Who are you when no one needs anything from you?
Most of us cannot answer that fast. We have spent years being needed, dependable, capable, the one everyone turns to. Somewhere in there we stopped asking what we actually wanted.
On September 3rd and 17th, I’m hosting a free workshop called Your Season by Design. You’ll get your Ignite Her Profile, the blueprint of how you’re actually built to lead, speak, and be seen. Not who you learned to be for everyone else.
Save your seat at the link in bio. 💜
This is the season you get introduced to yourself.

We had a plan.
An AMAZING plan, actually.
Months of preparation for our family vacation in the Canadian Rockies. Hikes. Shuttles. Tickets. Views we couldn’t wait to see.
And then the wildfire smoke rolled in.
Suddenly, the question wasn’t just, “How do we save the vacation?”
It was: How do we make sure the most vulnerable among us are still part of it?
Some of us did the hikes. Others found new adventures. We adjusted, gave, received, rested and discovered that different didn’t mean ruined.
There were bear sightings. Family time. Laughter. Rest. And plenty of memories we never could have planned.
Maybe that’s one of the gifts of living with a season mindset.
Plan for what you want.
Pay attention to what is.
Make room for one another.
And stay open enough to receive what you didn’t plan.
Because a beautiful life isn’t one where everything goes according to plan.
It’s one where we keep making room for one another when it doesn’t.

Vacation, but make it smoky. 🏔️
The first photo dump from our Canadian Rockies adventure—and apparently the mountains decided to add their own filter.
Banff. Moraine Lake. Lake Louise. 💜
Even through the smoky skies, it was hard not to be completely in awe of this place. The color of the water. The scale of the mountains. The moments when you just stop and look around because a picture will never quite capture it.
Was it the clear, postcard-perfect view we imagined? Not exactly.
Was it still absolutely beautiful? Yes.
Maybe that’s part of traveling—and life. You don’t always get the conditions you pictured, but there is still so much worth noticing.
Ten pictures aren’t nearly enough, so consider this Smoky Vacation: Part One. 💜

I’ve been reflecting on what the COVID years revealed about us—not just about public health, but about how we learn.
Somewhere along the way, changing your mind became something to be ashamed of. We started expecting leaders, scientists, and even ourselves to have certainty in moments that required curiosity, humility, and course correction.
In this week’s episode, I’m exploring why I believe the future belongs to people who are willing to learn out loud. We talk about science, community, the end of guru culture, and why the Believe Women movement isn’t about replacing one voice with another—it’s about making room for more voices around the table.
Because maybe the opposite of certainty isn’t being wrong.
Maybe it’s being willing to keep growing.

This birthday weekend gave me so much more than a celebration.
It gave me perspective.
As I looked around the room, I realized I wasn’t just surrounded by family and friends, I was surrounded by every season of my life.
My parents, still showing me what enduring love looks like after more than 60 years of marriage. John, my partner of 36 years, with whom I’ve built a beautiful life. My daughters, carrying forward stories across generations. Friends from every chapter—college, raising our girls, ministry, and this newest season at the gym. And my grandson, reminding me that slowing down and being fully present may be one of the greatest gifts we can give each other.
The older I get, the less I measure my life by what I’ve accomplished and the more I measure it by the people who have walked beside me.
Thank you to everyone who celebrated with me, sent a message, shared a memory, or simply held me in your thoughts. I’m still making my way through all the birthday wishes, and each one has reminded me how deeply grateful I am for this life we’ve woven together.
🎧 This week’s episode of A Season of Me, A Life Woven Together, is a reflection on legacy, gratitude, and the beautiful truth that none of us become who we are alone.
What season of your life are you most grateful for today? 💜

On this last day of birthday month, I’m so filled with gratitude.
Thank you to everyone who made this so special. Whether you were able to join me in person or sent greetings on Facebook or Instagram, I’m grateful for each and every one of you. As I begin this next decade, I look forward to all the new memories we will make together💜

I kept catching myself in the “shoulds” this week.
I should have shared this podcast carousel on Friday.
I was supposed to have planned ahead.
I was supposed to make sure it got done.
But instead… I was exactly where I needed to be.
My family was arriving for an epic birthday weekend, and I chose to be fully present. 💜
It reminded me that so much of our stress doesn’t come from what actually happened—it comes from the stories we tell ourselves about what we were supposed to do.
This week, I practiced letting go of the “shoulds” and trusting that being present was enough. Because it was.
So here’s the carousel from Friday’s podcast—right on time for where I am today.
I hope it reminds you to notice where “supposed to” might be stealing your peace… and gives you permission to choose what matters most instead.
And stay tuned… I’ll be sharing some highlights from my epic birthday weekend soon. 💜

Today, Christians around the world celebrate the Feast of Mary Magdalene. 💜
As I reflected on her story, I found myself returning to a section of my recent Substack essay, “The Faith I Found at 60,” where I wrote about meeting Mary in a new way.
For so much of my life, I thought faith was about having the right answers. Mary’s story reminds me that faith is often about recognizing the voice that calls your name, even after seasons of grief, disappointment, and uncertainty.
She wasn’t chosen because she had it all figured out. She was transformed by an encounter with love and became the first witness to hope.
That reminder has become deeply personal for me. The faith I’ve found in this season isn’t perfect or polished. It’s quieter. Deeper. More rooted in relationship than certainty.
If you’ve ever wondered what faith can look like after life has reshaped you, I’d love for you to read the story. The link is in my bio.
I hope Mary’s story, and mine, remind you that it’s never too late to discover a faith that feels honest, alive, and entirely your own. 💜

Lately, I’ve realized something.
I thought my life’s work was helping women find their voices.
But the truth is, women have been speaking all along.
The deeper issue is that they haven’t always been believed.
That realization has become the heartbeat of everything I do. It’s why I’m no longer trying to simply grow a podcast—I’m building a community around one simple idea:
Believe Women.
As I celebrate my 60th birthday this summer, I have one birthday wish: to welcome 60 women into this community.
If A Season of Me has encouraged you, would you help me spread the message?
