“I focus and work my life at this wave since I was 12 years old. I first got out here and got my ass kicked at Backdoor in about a 2 foot wave, got pinned on the bottom. I paddled back to Ehukai and I was like man, I love that place. It’s given me all my favorite memories, all the most pleasure in my life and we’re just fortunate to have this opportunity.” he said

Before her sons became part of the surfing world, there was a mother who built their lives around the ocean.
Raising three boys on Hawaii’s North Shore, she made the sea more than just their backyard, it became their classroom, playground, and way of life. She taught them to understand the waves, respect nature, embrace freedom, and stand on their own.
Through the challenges of raising a family, she carried much of the responsibility herself, supporting their education, travels, and early journeys into surfing.
Her greatest legacy wasn’t simply helping them become surfers. It was giving them a lifelong connection to the ocean, and the strength, independence, and love for the sea that came with it.
