52 yellowtail for the Trench Shoring private charter. Stop and go yo-yo action!

27 yellowtail for the Jim Nahin private charter.

Stayed in yellowtail mode all day and pointed for home with 10 yellows making it into the RSW. Adverse conditions made things tough but still feel there’s enough around for another big hit.

55 yellowtail,wide open barracuda. Today we caught most of our fish on yo-yo jigs due to the fact we only had tiny anchovies for bait. Tomorrow we may have sardine so make sure you bring a 25-30 lb bait rod just in case. A 40 lb yoyo rod and a 25 lb bait should come on every trip. Spool diameter is crucial when yoyo fishing. Stretch in your line is crucial when trying to keep a treble hook attached when the fish has a heavy lure stuck in its mouth. Knife jigs and C**t Snipers are not yoyo jigs.

The people fishing a “Baja Special” or similar reel filled with 40 lb monofilament have caught a limit. The passengers fishing a goofy, small spool diameter, overgrown bass reel filled with blue spectra or spinning reel have lost multiple fish and are completely worn out. A few really good opportunities today.

21 yellowtail a good midday bass stop and all you can eat barracuda. A 25 lb bait rod and a 40 lb yoyo rod should be in every anglers quiver when fishing the islands. We are still fishing with anchovies so make sure you bring small hooks ( #4 & #2)

Another fun day of mixed bag fishing. 21 yellowtail 42 calico bass 61 barracuda and as many whitefish as you want !

10 yellowtail and good calico bass fishing. Classic summer action on the anchor. “I think I got a bite on 20 baits in a row” Was my favorite line I overheard from the wheelhouse.

4 yellowtail 140 calico bass 34 barracuda 37 rockfish 1 sheepshead 1 ling cod. Happy 4th of July!

5 yellowtail and good action on bass, barracuda, and rockfish. Felt like we stopped a thousand times on yellowtail but for the most part they would just swim away from us. Plenty of fish to be had just have to connect with them at the right time.
