I’d rather be the oldest person in the gym than the youngest person in the nursing home. 💪

Getting older isn’t an excuse to stop—it’s a reason to keep going. Keep moving. Keep training. Keep challenging yourself.

You don’t have to be the strongest or the fastest. You just have to keep showing up.

Your future self will thank you.

Gotta keep going. Stay active. Stay strong! 💪🔥

Today I turn 53. 🎂

As I reflect on another year around the sun, I’m reminded that aging is a privilege that not everyone gets to experience.

People often ask me how I stay motivated to work out after all these years.

The answer is simple.

I don’t train because I want to look younger.

I train because I want to live better.

I want to have the same energy, strength, and quality of life in my 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond that I enjoyed in my younger years.

Over the years, I’ve learned that a good life isn’t built on one big decision. It’s built on thousands of small choices made consistently.

Move your body.

Lift weights.

Eat well.

Take care of your health.

Get enough sleep.

Surround yourself with good people who encourage you, challenge you, and genuinely want to see you succeed.

Spend time with family.

Appreciate your friends.

Be kind to others.

Never stop learning.

And most importantly, don’t wait for a special occasion to enjoy life.

Life is unpredictable.

I’ve learned through my own journey that tomorrow is never guaranteed.

So celebrate today.

Laugh more.

Love more.

Forgive more.

Take chances.

Chase your dreams.

Make memories.

Take care of your body because it’s the only place you have to live for the rest of your life.

At 53, I am grateful.

Grateful for my wife and daughters, Mia and Misha.

Grateful for my family and friends.

Grateful for my clients, my community, and everyone who has been part of my journey.

And grateful for another year to continue growing, learning, serving, and becoming the best version of myself.

Here’s to another year of health, purpose, resilience, and living life to the fullest.

Live your best life. The clock is always ticking. 💪🙏🎉

I want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported Eyes Shut, Mouth Closed. The messages, conversations, and support truly mean a lot to me. 🙏

If you’ve read the book, I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a few moments to log into your Amazon account and leave a review. Reviews help more people discover the book and, more importantly, help spread awareness about the history and resilience of the Vietnamese boat people and immigrant families alike.

Everyone has a story.

And even if our stories are different… many of us share similar struggles, sacrifices, fears, hopes, and challenges in life.

One of the reasons I wrote this book was to preserve these stories and remind future generations about the courage it took for so many families to leave everything behind in search of freedom and opportunity.

Your review not only supports me as an author — it helps keep these stories alive for others to learn from and appreciate.

Thank you again for all the love and support. It truly means more than you know.
