Chronic Pain ~ Spine issues ~ Stability and Hi, I’m Nati! Laura H. Deborah D. Mary G.
After using yoga to heal myself from chronic back pain, I have been on a mission to empower people to actively participate in their own healing and regeneration. My journey began over 20 years ago when I worked in the Spanish radio industry. I suddenly found myself suffering from chronic lower back pain. In search of relief, I developed a dedicated yoga practice which helped to deeply heal my body
What does “somatic” actually mean?
Somatic means relating to the body.
A somatic practice brings your attention into the body—into your breath, sensations, movement, tension, emotions, and the signals your body is constantly sending you.
It’s not about thinking your way through everything.
It’s about learning to feel, notice, listen, and respond.
Shaking, breathwork, mindful movement, sound, grounding, and even simply noticing your sensations can all be somatic practices.
The body is always communicating.
The question is…
Are we listening?
Save this if “somatic” is a word you’ve been hearing everywhere but weren’t quite sure what it meant.
I’ve been talking to people who’ve walked through Lyme and coinfections, and there’s a pattern almost everyone describes: you feel good, genuinely good — and then it can get so much worse before it turns. Not because something’s wrong. Because that’s sometimes just the process.
I want to hear from you. If you’ve had a stretch of feeling good — even 5 to 8 days — did a harder wave follow? What actually helped you get through it? What resources do you wish you’d had sooner?
Drop it in the comments. I want to build a real list, from real experience. 🧵
