Girls can build strength in and out of the weight room 💪

Strong athletes know that some movements work specific muscle groups, while other movements help the body improve stability and help keep our kinetic chain connected.

Slow isometric training (like holds) helps strengthen our connective tissue (like all the ligaments in our knees).

Building strength is a slow and steady process that helps us recover from training faster, play for longer, and feel good on game day.

Act or React? Which one is better?

Confident players act on the game and know how to create game winning moments.

Keeping your composure is key for decision making on the field and lets you recognize when the right moments are to change the game.

While having the skill to react is also important, we don’t want to play in “fight or flight” and only react to what the game is forcing on us.

Control comes from confidence, and confidence is built step by step.

Build your skills ➡️ Be more confident ➡️ Create game winning moments

How do you create your game? 👇

The way you move matters. Athletes who move intentionally trust their bodies and succeed on the field. Do you spend time building your MMC?

Does doing the same thing over and over again make you better?

Maybe. But only if you’ve got it right.

Some players train hard and a lot but don’t know that something in their technique, body position, or movement isn’t quite right. ❌ That means those skills don’t transfer into success moments in the game.

✅ This is where intentional training comes in. Spending time to go slow and steady builds you up faster and takes you farther.

In slowed down moments, you have time to connect to your body, the ball, and the idea behind the exercise.

Development comes from the little changes in every rep that make sure your skills make you successful in training in games.

If you’re a U10-U16 girl in San Diego playing soccer we’d love to see you out to one of our Friday sessions.
