Some Coaches teach the game. This absolute LEGEND embodies it.
This Coach is a highly decorated powerhouse, a 4x USA Football Gold medalist and a 25-season veteran and counting. They have dedicated a lifetime to mastering the game and passing that knowledge forward. Their voice carries weight and their leadership reaches far beyond the field.
But what truly sets them apart is their ability to teach—from the fundamentals to the smallest details, they have a gift for breaking down the game, developing athletes, and helping players understand not just what to do, but why it matters.
Their impact is woven into the foundation of the San Diego Rebellion, and their commitment to advancing women in sports will continue to break barriers and make history. It is our honor to announce that your San Diego Rebellion's Coach of the Year for the 2026 WNFC Season, goes to Coach Knengi Martin 🏆🥂🪓

Dr. Harmine Christina Léo embodies the spirit of Woman of the Year: an All-Pro defensive back, frontline emergency physician, advocate for health equity, and champion for women in sport. As a starting defender for the San Diego Rebellion, she has earned All-Pro and Defensive MVP honors, led key league coverage statistics, and represented Team Canada at the IFAF Women’s World Championship only months after beginning tackle football. Known as a “coach on the field,” she combines elite athletic performance with exceptional leadership and preparation.
Beyond football, Dr. Léo is a fellowship-trained emergency physician specializing in transport medicine, mass gatherings, EMS, and pre-hospital care. She has helped improve emergency department systems, contributed to medical preparedness research, and provided medical support at major events including Formula 1, cycling, IndyCar, and large festivals. She also advocates for racial equity in healthcare by educating clinicians on disparities affecting Black patients and uses her platform as a Black woman, physician, and athlete to promote inclusion and greater investment in women’s sport.
What makes Dr. Léo truly exceptional is her relentless commitment to doing it all. She has balanced demanding clinical training, overnight shifts, research, and academics in Canada with the travel and competition required to play professional football in San Diego, making significant personal and financial sacrifices to help advance the women’s game. She saves lives, protects communities, leads on the field, and creates opportunities for the next generation—making Dr. Harmine Christina Léo the San Diego Rebellion’s Woman of the Year for the 2026 WNFC Season. 🏆🥂🪓

This is an athlete whose selflessness, work ethic, and unwavering commitment never go unnoticed. She speaks life into her teammates, motivates those around her, and leads by example in everything she does.
And when we say dedication, we mean it. As an out-of-state athlete, she makes the 4–6 hour drive to and from practice, multiple times a week, simply because she believes in her team and is committed to giving us the absolute BEST.
She shows up, puts in the work and pours into her teammates. A leader that earns the respect of everyone around her and a player every Coach hopes to have.
We proudly announce San Diego Rebellion's Coaches Award for the 2026 WNFC Season goes to this BEAST, Jen "JI" Ingargiola! 😤🔥🪓🏆
