This weekend I checked off a life list goal as I took the stage, stepped on the red circle, and gave my first TEDx talk at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

The incredible organizers at tedxjeffersonu were the most professional group of individuals who created an impeccable event.

We’ve all worked and planned for months for this weekend. Meeting the other speakers as we shared our messages with the audience was an honor I’ll next forget.

The best part…having my two kids sit in the audience cheering me on. They stand by me and support me through all my ventures and I hope they know that every goal is worth striving for.

Thank you to the wonderful tedxjeffersonu team for this opportunity. And thanks to all my friends and family for supporting me.

Can’t wait to share the full talk when it’s live on the TED website in a few months!

You don’t have to quit your job tomorrow to start building your second act.

On this week’s episode of the Second Act Success Podcast, I’m talking with Jesikah Wells, host of the Jesikah Wells about what it looks like to create something that fulfills YOU while still working full-time and raising a family.

Jesikah has taken quite the career journey. From working in the legal department at Wells Fargo, to wealth investment management, to project management with nonprofits. And while continuing her 9-5, she decided to make room for another part of herself by launching her podcast, blog, and Broken to Beautiful brand.

What I love about Jesikah’s story is that her second act is still unfolding. She didn’t quit everything and make one giant career change overnight.

She started exploring. She started creating. She began using small pockets of time to build something that was hers.

And as working moms, isn’t that sometimes how it has to begin?

We also get into mom guilt, imposter syndrome, work life balance, finding fulfillment outside of motherhood and your career, and giving yourself permission to ask:

“What do I want for ME?”

If you’ve been thinking about a career transition, starting a business, or wondering how you could possibly build something of your own while working full-time, I think you’ll really relate to this conversation.

What if your next career move isn’t about starting over, but finally using everything you’ve already learned to build something of your own?

On the latest episode of the Second Act Success Podcast, I’m talking with PR and marketing expert Allison Lane Allison Lane about career reinvention, personal branding, and turning years of corporate experience into your next opportunity.

Allison spent years building an impressive career in PR and marketing before realizing she was ready for something different.

Today, she uses those same skills to help women position themselves as thought leaders, authors, speakers, podcasters, and experts.

One of my favorite reminders from our conversation? Allison says, “You already have your stripes.”

If you’re considering a career change, leaving corporate, or starting a business, you do NOT have to throw away everything you’ve worked for.

Your skills come with you.
Your experience comes with you.
Your connections come with you.
Your confidence comes with you.

Your second act is about figuring out how to use all of it in a way that fits the person you are now and the life you want to create next.

If you’re thinking, “Okay, but what could MY second act actually look like?” DM me the word SECOND ACT. I’d love to hear what you’re thinking about.

Thinking about a career change but you keep asking yourself, “What would I even do next?”

You don’t need to have your entire second act figured out before you start exploring it.

In this week’s episode of the Second Act Success Podcast, I’m sharing Chapter 3, “Discovering Your Second Act,” from my book, Start Your Second Act.

We’re talking about how to:

✨ Identify the skills you can take into a new career
✨ Explore second act career ideas that actually fit your life now
✨ Separate your identity from your job title
✨ Prepare financially for a career transition
✨ Use networking to uncover new opportunities
✨ Create a realistic timeline for making your move

Here’s what I want you to remember: A career change does NOT mean starting over.

You’re bringing years of experience, skills, relationships, knowledge, and life lessons with you.

The question is, how do you want to use all of that in your next chapter?

Whether your second act means leaving corporate, starting a business, becoming your own boss, or simply finding a more flexible career, you can start exploring what’s possible now.

And tell me in the comments. If you could create your ideal second act, what would it look like?

Do you ever feel like you’re waiting until you’re “ready” before making your next move?

Here’s the truth... confidence doesn’t come first. Action does.

In this week’s episode of the Second Act Success Podcast, I sit down with engineer, leadership strategist, and executive coach, Sairan Aqrawi to talk about what it really takes to step into leadership, navigate career transitions, and build a business that aligns with your life.

We dive into:
✨ Why preparation creates confidence
✨ How to stop waiting for permission
✨ The difference between work-life balance and work-life integration
✨ Why your “side hustle” should become your “side haven”
✨ How to build your next chapter without burning yourself out

Whether you’re thinking about a career change, starting a business, or simply wondering what’s next, this conversation will remind you that your experience has prepared you for more than you realize.
