Working with EJ on quick footwork and clean, smooth transfers to make the exchange as efficient as possible. EJ is a very athletic catcher, and this is a great buildup drill before progressing into full throws down to second base.

Working on blocking today with an emphasis on recovering the baseball after the block.⚾️

Blocking doesn’t end when the ball hits the dirt. We have to find it, recover it, and be ready for the next play. It’s a small detail, but an important one.

Continue to rep it and train the muscle memory until it becomes automatic.🚀

Working on adjustability while maintaining direction the other way. ⚾️

The focus here is staying closed, holding his ground longer, and allowing the baseball to travel while still being able to adjust and deliver the barrel.

He already has quick hands, so this adjustment “feel” works well for him… giving him more time and space to react without sacrificing direction.

Stay closed. Hold your ground. Trust your hands. 🔑

Working on letting the baseball travel and making the transfer happen in the midline of the body. ⚾️
