We have to practice and prepare for competition as realistic as possible. We need to simulate practices by making them as real life as possible and with realistic pressure. We have to do better preparing our athletes for competition. But we also have to give the tools for our athletes to cope with the pressure and stresses of competition!

The mental is the most important part of the game. Yet we still don’t train it.
The only way to get over something is right through it. You have to sit with your truth and know who you are emotionally. You can’t avoid difficult feelings or difficult work. The avoidance will always come out with unhealthy expression and anxiety and depression. You have to face it and attack. Sit with the grit. Sitting home on your bed and watching reels and watching fitness videos isn’t gonna get your work done. If you can’t figure out what’s stopping you then then go to counseling and learn and understand yourself better. If you’re not putting the work in, it’s on you. There is plenty of help out there.

Most athletes do not have any goals when they practice or before competition and they simply show up and perform. There has to be mental preparation for this to occur. The Gettin’ Gritty with Dr. Journal outlines the exact structure for athletes to follow building confidence and mental focus . There will be guaranteed results if performers put a little effort in their preparation and the athlete can take charge and be in control of that. Here is the link for buying The Gettin’ Gritty Ultimate Performance Journal. Maximize time, focus, and build confidence one goal at a time!
