When you hear a spray foam contractor say theyāre certified or involved with industry organizations, what does that actually mean?
At JC Insulation, we believe education matters just as much as the equipment and material we bring to your home.
SPFA ā Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance
SPFA is a national trade organization for the spray polyurethane foam industry. It provides technical resources, safety education, industry guidance, and professional training.
P*P ā Professional Certification Program
P*P is SPFAās certification program for spray foam professionals. It provides different levels of certification based on a personās role and requires education, testing, and demonstrated knowledge. It covers areas like proper application, equipment, chemical handling, jobsite safety, and spray foam best practices.
ICAA ā Insulation Contractors Association of America
ICAA represents insulation contractors and provides education, training, technical resources, and information on insulation and building performance. It goes beyond just spray foam and helps contractors continue learning about the entire insulation industry.

A spray foam industry community focused heavily on hands-on education, networking, events, demonstrations, and bringing contractors together to share knowledge and improve the trade.
Why does all of this matter to a homeowner or builder?
Because spray foam isnāt simply pulled out of a bag and installed. Weāre combining chemicals and essentially manufacturing the finished insulation on your jobsite. Temperatures, pressures, substrate conditions, thickness, ventilation, safety, equipment setup, and installer knowledge all matter.
Thatās why we continue going to classes, earning certifications, attending industry events, and learning from manufacturers and other professionals.
