This isn't a scare tactic. Cyclists know how real these situations and facts are. That's why we built the Tailgator Brake Light. Warns cars behind you that you are slowing down.
" This is an excellent bike light. I was skeptical it would actually detect braking, but it does. Every time. I ride with my kids and they like to just stop for no good reason. This has made life better with my little guy in front. I know when he is stopping. Quality is excellent, light is super bright, and the stop feature works flawlessly. Very, very impressed."

Paul Revere had a lantern. You have a reflector. We need to talk.
250 years ago, a bunch of guys (and Betsy Ross) risked everything because they were not VISIBLE to King George as anything but taxpayers. One thing led to another, and here we are 250 years later.
We get it. You're tired of not being visible to drivers either.
Your bike has a blinky — a little orange light flashing the same tired pattern as Paul Revere's lantern dancing in the Boston wind. You hope the driver behind you is paying attention. They're not. They're texting. And when you slow down, that blinky does absolutely nothing — because a blinking light doesn't know you're braking. It just blinks. Same pattern. Forever.
The TAILGATOR Brake Light knows. It senses when you slow and BLASTS 300 lumens of "hey, this human is STOPPING" straight into the windshield behind you. An actual brake light. On a bike. The thing every bike should've had since, oh, the invention of the car — which has had them for 100 years.
