We’re excited to share that the Bicycle Collective is participating in Utah Youth Sports Giving Day! This fall, Utah Youth Sports Giving Day will bring our community together to help more kids get active. We’ll be raising funds for our youth mechanics program and for our free youth bikes program. The fundraiser opens on Sept. 12, stay tuned for more info on how you can help!

It's WTF Night tonight! Every Wednesday from 6-8pm we open the Bicycle Collective as a space for the Woman, Trans, and Femme community. This is an inclusive space where you can bring a bike to work on, look at our selection of used parts and refurbished bikes, or just come and ask any questions you have about cycling. For more info on events, check out our website events tab at https://bicyclecollective.org/pages/events or at the link in our bio! Hope to see you here!

Meet our volunteer Taki! Taki originally heard about us from a coworker and has been volunteering ever since. He likes giving back to the community, and one of his favorite parts of volunteering is fixing up bikes and giving them to those in need. Taki sees bikes as a way to connect with his community. In his free time he likes to fix and ride bikes, and play video games. Taki is a hard worker who always gives 100 percent, and we're happy to have him helping out at the Bicycle Collective!

Another bike heading out from our free bike program! For many people who receive bikes through our free bike programs, bikes are an essential form of transportation. There are many reasons why cars may not be an option. Cycling offers a way for people to have a self sufficient way to get around, while also being much more affordable and sustainable. Thank you to all of our volunteers who help to fix and build these bikes, and to everyone who donates bikes and parts to our programs!

Georgina was so excited to receive a bike through our goodwill program! We are happy to get her a self reliant and sustainable form of transportation that will hopefully last for years to come!

Last year we had quite a few people looking for bikes to take down to Burning Man, so this year we have a whole selection of bikes ready for the playa! We’ve got a great selection of weird and colorful cruiser bikes that are ready to be fixed up and decorated. Come by the Salt Lake City Bicycle Collective to take a look and try some out!

We were excited to work with the Confederated Tribes of the Goshute Reservation to provide 20 kids with bikes and helmets! Thank you to the tribe members who came out to help transport and distribute the bikes, and to our volunteers who fixed and built every one of them.

Meet our current volunteer spotlight, Michael! Michael has worked at many different bike shops and now does software development for Santa Cruz Bicycles. He has always been involved with community bike shops, so when he moved to Salt Lake in 2021 he immediately started helping at the Bicycle Collective. Michael mostly uses bikes for commuting and transportation, but he also loves mountain biking and bike touring with friends. Off the bike, he's into rock climbing and pottery. Keep an eye out for his handmade cactus tea cups! Michael's favorite parts of volunteering is sharing his bike knowledge with the community, helping under-resourced folks get access to car free transportation, and meeting new friends. Thanks for everything you do for the Bicycle Collective, Michael!

We had an awesome human powered donation drop-off the other day! Two full bikes and three huge bins of parts were hauled into the shop on this sweet cargo bike! Thank you for your donation! We can accept any bike related donations during any of our open business hours.
