Colin's impact on US Speedskating cannot be overstated. He was instrumental in bringing together five entities to build the Speed Factory and Element Event Center, a transformative upgrade for our speed skating community and National Team athletes.
He championed hosting World Cups and World Championships at the Utah Olympic Oval and brought major international events to our home for 20 years. Colin also embraced USS’s move to Utah, supporting our organization through shared services, staffing, and office space. His commitment to bringing the Olympic Games back to Utah in 2034 stands as a lasting legacy.
The Utah Olympic Oval remains a shining example of strong Olympic legacy, and it would not exist as it does today without Colin Hilton.
It is with very heavy hearts that we share that our CEO and Friend, Colin Hilton, passed away yesterday. We are unbelievably heartbroken. Colin meant so much to so many of us, and it is hard to put into words what this loss means.
