Fun sights in and around Bemidji MN and the headwaters to the Mississippi River! Gotta love Babe and his Blue Ox. Also Bemidji is in the top 25 choices for Hallmark’s Merriest Christmas Towns contest. I hope they win!

A busy day doing laundry, refilling meds, getting provisions and a few surprises. I guess if you are staying at a lake called Swan Lake you shouldn’t be surprised to see a swan nest and if there is a chicken house at the RV Park you shouldnt be surprised to get some fresh eggs. Next stop Bemidji.

World’s Largest Buffalo Monument built in 1959 in Jamestown, ND. We also toured the North American Bison Discovery Center. It was well worth the $12 each admission. FYI: Don’t try to outrun a Buffalo and remember they are not fluffy cows. 🤣

This is a beautiful stop just a few miles from Medora. Good hiking and photo taking. Would have been a little better without the clouds and rain, but I’m not complaining! The temperature was in the low 70’s.

Day 2 in Medora we spent “3 hours” in the new Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library. It’s an incredible experience and we highly recommend it. You receive a bracelet when you start the tour and you use it for interactive programs. You can even have a conversation with Teddy himself! There are lots of photo ops that are used to create a digital Journal that was a lot of fun. We purchased our tickets in advance online. Our time was 11:00 but we got there early at 10:30 and there wasn't a line. The crowd was fairly light until about 1:00 then, it was packed.

Day 1 in Medora. Air quality is GOOD! This afternoon we took a two hour drive through Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Here are some photos of large Bison, small prairie dogs, mustangs rolling in the dust and some beautiful views.

We have left Washington state and are now in Idaho. The smoke from the multiple fires is everywhere. We were able to purchase an air purifier and it’s doing a great job inside the airstream.

We ended our visit to Washington state by attending Washington Airstream Club‘s Potlatch National Event Rally at Washington Land Yacht Harbor. There was so much to see and do and friends to catch up with. The rally celebrates the spirit of Potlatch- a tradition of generosity, community and sharing and takes place every three years. We were welcomed by members of the Nisqually Indian Tribe and money raised went to support the Wa He Lut Indian School. Oh, and the salmon cooked over hot coals was a highlight of the Rally as well. We can’t wait to go back!

What a beautiful time to be in Sequim, Washington. There is lavender everywhere and the fragrance is wonderful. Once again we ran into Texas friends and fellow airstreamers. LIfe is so good and we are grateful for every moment.

We took a little hike yesterday to Marymere Falls in the Olympic National Park on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. The trail was described as “easy to moderate.” Let’s just leave it at - I’m not as young as I used to be.
