Two nights at Nine Mile Ranch , and we’re already planning a trip back. ⛺️🏔️

This place is exactly what we look for when we’re trying to get away from the crowds—peaceful, scenic, and surrounded by country begging to be explored. The camp hosts were absolutely stellar: friendly, helpful, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making sure everyone had a great stay. Hosts like these make a good campground a great one.

We spent one of our days heading into the canyon to explore the petroglyphs already planning our next , following the landscape and discovering pieces of the history left behind on the canyon walls. There’s something pretty incredible about standing in a place like that, surrounded by rugged country, knowing people were here long before us.

Back at camp, it was two nights of quiet evenings, beautiful surroundings, and the kind of reset you only get when you unplug and get out into the backcountry.

If you’re looking for a great place to camp and explore, put Nine Mile Ranch on your list. We highly recommend it—and a huge shout out to the camp hosts for making our stay even better. 🤘

A quiet morning at camp turned into pure wilderness chaos. One minute we were relaxing, the next a cow moose and her calf came charging straight through camp with a bull hot on their heels. Seeing these incredible animals up close in their natural habitat was an unforgettable adrenaline rush.

Moments like this are exactly why we head into the backcountry. You never know what adventure is waiting around the next corner.

Does this count as trail damage?

One of the biggest upgrades to my 2015 Tacoma overland build is finally coming together—a 13-gallon Ironman 4x4 water tank paired with a 12V on-demand water pump.

This isn't just about carrying more water. It's about making camp life easier. With the flip of a switch, I'll have pressurized water for cooking, washing dishes, cleaning gear, and even a quick shower after a long day on the trail.

The goal with this install is to keep everything clean, reliable, and easy to service while maximizing the limited space in the Tacoma. Every modification has a purpose, and this one adds a level of convenience that makes extended trips into the backcountry even more enjoyable.

No reservations. No cell service. No crowds.

Just a dirt road leading to a place most people will never see.

We spent our time surrounded by towering trees, birds echoing through the mountains, and deer quietly moving through camp. From the time we rolled in until we packed up, we never saw another person.

That's the kind of overlanding we chase—not the destination, but the solitude. The places where the only tracks are wildlife, the nights are dark, and the silence reminds you why you came.

These are the places worth protecting. Tread lightly, leave nothing behind, and keep the wild... wild.
