Busy Shop Saturday! 🚲🔧
One bike earned, one HUGE load of donations, and one special sendoff for Makara, who’s been wrenching with us during her college summer break. 💛
We’re so grateful for the bikes, parts, time, and people that keep The Pedal Factory rolling!

Used Bikes - Fresh Starts! 🚲
Lots of action in the shop this summer! 🔧 We’ve added to our inventory - thank you to our recent donors and hardworking shop crew - and we’ve got a nice selection of used bikes ready for their next adventure.
Heading back to school? Come find your ride and get rolling! 🚲 We’ll be at College Night Out on August 27th , too, so stop by and say hello!

Every donated bike has the chance to become someone’s next adventure.
🚲💛
A big welcome to Mae and Kaila, two of our newest shop visitors - and now some of the newest riders in town! We loved the energy they brought into the shop and can’t wait to see them out riding with us soon.
And congratulations to Noah, who rolled home on a new-to-him bike after participating in the Where’s Waldo Challenge hosted by Alissa Redmond 📚
Thanks to everyone who donates, volunteers, and supports our mission to keep our community rolling. 💛

C A M P 😎
We had a blast spending Monday and Wednesday mornings with the campers at Milford Hills United Methodist Church Camp in the City! 🚲
Through drills, games, and everyone’s favorite - the obstacle course - kids built confidence, improved bike handling skills, and practiced safe riding habits. More kids riding bikes is always a win. 💛
Kids + bikes + summer = the perfect combination. ☀️🚲

🚨 WE NEED YOUR HELP! Currently in need of:
➡️ New or very gently used bicycle helmets (adult & youth sizes)
🚲 Adult bicycles in good condition
This year has been challenging. Our DOT helmet allocation was cut nearly in half, we lost a major grant we’ve relied on for years, and overall giving has been lower than usual.
To everyone who donates monthly, volunteers, shops with us, or brings us bikes - thank you. You are the reason we can keep doing this work. 💛
Because of these funding and inventory challenges, we’ll be scaling back our Earn-A-Bike program beginning in August. Instead of multiple participants each week, we’ll be scheduling just one participant per week through the fall until our budget and inventory recover.
The good news? We’re already planning fundraising events for this winter and spring, including our Bowlathon in late October, along with rides and other community events to help keep our programs going.
💬 We’d love your input: What’s something you’d pay to learn or experience with The Pedal Factory? Bike maintenance classes? Group rides? Skills clinics? Family events? Tell us in the comments!
And if you have a helmet or bike to donate, or know someone who does, we’d be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps put someone on a bike safely.

Two of our shop guests this past weekend - both left with "new to them" bikes and one learned to ride on two wheels for the first time!
Congrats to Henry and Masi for sticking with the program and leaving with new rides and new skills!
The bikes have been rolling out the door all summer and we'll be taking the next two weeks to rebuild inventory and clean up the shop. Volunteers are always needed! Have skills to share? Bring em on in and lend a hand. It takes a community!

Been meaning to post this for a minute!
➡️ CHECK OUT our awesome wheel hangers - custom design and 3D printed by AND he sorted out wheels in the raging upstairs heat. 🥵
Thanks to amazing volunteers our bike and wheel inventory is more organized than ever. 💛 Everyone has a gift and we appreciate those who keep showing up and sharing theirs. It takes a village.
