What a night. What a ride. What a community. ❤️‍🔥

The 2026 V***r Trail 125 was one for the record books. Our biggest field ever, our biggest volunteer crew ever, and one unforgettable night of dirt, darkness, suffering, smiles, and a whole lot of questionable life choices.

To everyone who rolled away from F Street at 10 PM and into the unknown: you showed up, you did the work, and you earned your place in V***r Trail lore. Whether you crossed the finish line or had to call it, we’re proud of every one of you.

To our volunteers, photographers, mechanics, medical crews, aid stations, course crews, timing crew, finish-line crew, and everyone who lost sleep to make this happen: THANK YOU. The V***r is so much bigger than the people on bikes. It takes an entire community to keep this beautiful circus rolling.

When the suffering starts to fade and the memories get sweeter, we hope you come back to Salida and do it all again.

125 miles through the mountains. Endless climbing. High alpine singletrack. Darkness. Fatigue. And the kind of suffering you willingly sign up for because, somewhere deep down, you think this is a good idea. 😂

The V***r Trail 125 is not just a race. It’s a test of how far you can push your body, your mind, and your willingness to keep pedaling when everything is telling you to stop.

This year's 2nd-place rider, Russell Finsterwald, put together a full video from the experience, from the first pedal strokes to the miles ridden under the stars.

🏔️ Through midnight climbs, thin-air summits, and bone-rattling descents, heroes were once again forged on the trails of the V***r Trail 125. After 125 miles and 17,000+ feet of relentless elevation, the strongest stood at the summit of endurance. 🔥 Congratulations to the top 3 women and top 3 men — legends now etched in Colorado granite. 💪

Just a few more nervous sleeps and power naps until you get sent off into the chilly (wet?) night and mighty high peaks of the Sawatch Range! Here is the schedule for this weekend ⬇️

🗓 SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12TH:
🟢 5 PM - 7:30 PM - Athlete check-in and number plate pickup in the back parking lot of Absolute Bikes (330 W Sackett Ave, Salida, CO 81201)
🟢 5 PM - 7:30 PM - Drop off “Drop Bags” inside the white enclosed Absolute Bikes trailer in AB/High Side parking lot AFTER YOU CHECK IN. You will receive luggage tags when you check in so we can easily identify your drop bags.
🟢 7:30 PM - 8 PM - MANDATORY RACER MEETING in the back parking lot behind Absolute Bikes.
🟢 9:45 PM - 9:55 PM - Racers arrive at the F Street Bridge (Please stay out of the middle of the road as traffic will be open to vehicles).
🟢 10 PM - Race Start at the F Street Bridge in downtown Salida.

🗓 SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13TH:
🔴 Racing all day with the finish line in the parking lot of Absolute Bikes.
🔴 Free racer meal in parking lot. Free b**r and NA's from Elevation B**r Company.
🔴 We will have music, good vibes, and great people hanging out. Stay, relax, and cheer on other finishers.
🔴 Men's and Women's awards ceremony times will be based on finishing times. If you make the podium, PLEASE STAY FOR AWARDS. You've been in this for the long haul. Months of training, a 12-20 hour day on the bike, so please hang out for another couple hours and be there to stand on the steps with the 2 other badasses you crushed the day with. We'll shoot for Men's awards around 4:30 PM (no earlier than 4 PM) and Women's awards soon after as long as we have the top 3 finishers in.

Also, check your inbox and/or SPAM folder. An email went out the evening of September 7 to all racers with the schedule of events and important race information.

Most of the hard work is done. The miles are in. Now it’s time to rest, recover, and get your gear dialed!

Before race day, give your bike a once-over:

🔧 Check your tires and/or install new tires
🫧 Top off your sealant
⛓️ Inspect your drivetrain
🛑 Check those brake pads
👟 How are your shoe cleats? Don’t discover they’re toast halfway through the night.
🧥 Cold-weather gear? Get it all lined up and tested.

The V***r Trail doesn’t care how fast you were in training. It cares how well you’re prepared when the day gets hot, the night gets cold, the trails gets rough, and the miles start piling up.

The training is done. Now sharpen the tools. Rest the engine.

🚵‍♂️ The V***r Trail 125 Training Series routes are officially OPEN for 2026! 🚵‍♀️

The high country is calling, the legs are trembling with anticipation, and the countdown to race day has begun. From punchy climbs to endless alpine views, these routes are designed to help you build fitness, dial in your gear, and get a taste of what the V***r Trail 125 dishes out every September.

⚠️ Early season mountain conditions are very much in play:
❄️ Snow drifts may linger on higher passes
🌧️ Trails may be wet, muddy, or boggy (stay on trail!)
🌲 Downed trees can block sections of trail
🪨 Fallen rocks and debris are common after winter
🚧 Conditions can change daily

Please ride smart, be prepared for surprises, and remember that a little hike-a-bike is sometimes part of the adventure.

Now grab your friends, load the route (link on website), and start stacking those mountain miles. September will be here before you know it! 😈
