Play:
Shotgun Start Tee Times with “Scramble Format”
In a Scramble, each player will tee off and the best ball is selected. Each player will then hit from that spot, moving their golf ball no more than one club length. The best second shot is selected and everyone will then hit from that spot. This continues until the ball is holed.
Golf handicaps will be needed for each participating golfer. The maximum handicap is 30 for men and 35 for women.
Schedule:
7:30am: Morning Check-In
8:00am: Morning Tee Time (Shotgun Start)
12:00-2:00pm: Lunch
12:15pm: Afternoon Check-In
1:15pm: Afternoon Tee Time (Shotgun Start)
6:00pm: Awards Reception & Dinner
Honoring Mike McLaran
The Salem Area Chamber of Commerce began its annual golf tournament in 1989. The tournament was renamed in 2013 in honor of Mike McLaran, who passed away suddenly in March of that year. Mike served as CEO of the Salem Chamber for 16 years and was a leader, a colleague, a mentor, and a friend to many in our community. His life was an example to all of us.
Each year, we have chosen to feature one of the “McLaranisms” — some of Mike’s memorable wisdom about leadership, life, and success.
