Vertical Ventures St Pete

That’s a wrap. 15 hour deep clean day.

We closed the gym today and absolutely went ham.

Carpets steam cleaned.
Entire gym vacuumed.
Concrete swept, mopped + Zamboni’d.
Dust blown off the tops of the walls.
Training room deep cleaned.
Showers taken apart + power washed.
Bathroom baseboards pulled off, cleaned + reinstalled.
Front desk reorganized.
Vanguards accomplishment banners finally hung.
And about 400 other gross little things you only discover once you start deep cleaning a 20,000 sq. ft. climbing gym.

It was a big day with a small but mighty crew, and we are incredibly grateful for everyone who showed up and got dirty with us.

The gym is cleaner than it has been in a while. Tonight, I’d totally eat off the floor.

We hope you can see, smell, and feel the difference.

That’s exactly what this camp is built for.

September 6–7, we’re hosting a two-day Youth Competition Training Camp for U11–U19 athletes who want to sharpen movement, problem-solving, mental skills, and competition readiness before the season starts.

Coaches G and Max will lead the camp, with competition setting from Jiarra and Dylan. All four bring experience from high-level youth competition, including Regional, Divisional and National events.

12 hours of focused training across bouldering, lead and top rope. Open to VV athletes and climbers from other youth programs.

Move local ❤️

We’re excited to be part of st. Pete’s Local Motion fitness passport alongside a bunch of independently owned St. Pete gyms and studios.

We love the idea behind this one. St. Pete has grown a LOT. There are more places to work out, move and sweat than ever before, including more and more national chains moving into town.
But there’s something pretty special about the locally owned places.

They’re run by people who live here. They employ people who live here. They sponsor the teams, donate to the fundraisers, show up for community events, collaborate with other small businesses and keep more of those dollars right here in St. Pete. It’s these people and spaces that keep St. Pete a little weird and interesting. They get to have their own personality, make their own decisions and build spaces that actually feel like the people behind them.

That’s something worth supporting. Grab a passport, try somewhere new, and get to know some of the local businesses that keep St. Pete moving.

CLOSED MONDAY - we’re getting!

VV will be closed all day Monday while we tackle some much-needed gym wide deep cleaning, including a professional carpet cleaning.

We’re taking the day to give the gym some love and will be open on Tuesday with regular hours.

See you Tuesday, please try to admire how clean it is before getting chalk everywhere. ❤️

A very VV field trip.

We got a call that the old climbing wall at Sky Zone needed a new home. So, we rented a 20-foot U-Haul, loaded up the tools, assembled a crew and climbed into a foam pit.

Piece by piece, bolt by bolt, the wall came down and eventually made its way back to VV.

We DIY a lot around here. We build volumes, fix water fountains (repeatedly), paint walls, move heavy things back and forth and occasionally spend a day chest-deep in foam cubes with power tools. Nothing fancy- but good people, ingenuity and a whole lotta of grit.

The wall is currently tucked away in the VV workshop while we figure out what its next life might be.

We have some ideas. 👀
