Highland Park studio, around 2007. A new client I'd known for a while — big supporter of mine, leading dietitian in Minnesota — sits down and tells me what she wants.
Weight loss. Hormones out of balance. Effort isn't the issue.
I had my answer ready. Train harder. Consistency. Effort compounds. Three times a week, building up to five or six.
She looked at me and said, that's not what she needed. She needed a system that worked with hers — fewer days, less time, integrated with the nutrition framework she already ran for her clients.
She was the authority on her own body. My job was to be the authority on building a plan around it.
That's the lesson. The plan is the easy part. The coach's job is to stop forcing and start meeting.
