Muskie's eat far fewer walleyes than people think. In a Wisconsin study that examined the food habits of 1,092 muskies from 34 lakes, only five walleyes were found in stomachs. Rather, yellow perch made up 30 percent of the total number of prey consumed by muskies, while catostomids (suckers) made up 47 percent of their total food, by volume.
