True Grit Epic Announces New Ownership for 2027

Beginning September 1, 2026, will officially transfer management of the True Grit Epic Mountain Bike, Gravel, and Stage Race to of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

GRO Races wants to thank everyone who has come to True Grit Epic, raced with them, volunteered, supported the event, sponsored the event, worked behind the scenes, or simply cheered riders on over the years.
It has truly been a pleasure to build an event that is loved by its participants and embraced by the community.

When it started True Grit 16 years ago, founder and creator, Cimarron Chacon never imagined where it would go or how many people it would touch. The event has become so much more than a race. It has become a community, a tradition, and a special part of the cycling landscape in Southern Utah.
GRO Races is proud to pass the torch to Zia Rides and looks forward to seeing the event continue to grow, evolve, and bring riders back to the trails of Southern Utah for years to come.

North Bound is more than just a ride. It is about experiencing nature. The Hunabyggð region has the most gravel roads in all of iceland. Therefore this course is 95% gravel.
The finish is through the Svartardalur ( the Black River Valley) . It is fast and fun. We chose this part of the route becuase we want you to finish with a big smile on your face.
The other great thing about Svartardalur, there is very little wind.
