The fire crackled as a few good guys sat back, sharing easy laughs in the crisp night air. The rich smell of roasted deer ribs lingered from the feast, and away from the rush of everyday life, time simply slowed down. With full stomachs, the warmth of the flames at their backs, and the steady hum of camaraderie, it was everything a night in the woods was meant to be.

The crisp morning fog hung thick in the valleys, clinging to our clothes and muffling the low whispers of the team as we navigated the ridgeline. As the sun climbed higher, that damp chill quickly burned off, giving way to a surprisingly warm, sun-drenched noon that had us breaking a real sweat. Through it all, the camaraderie of the crew kept the energy high, and by the time the dust settled, our persistence paid off with a successful triple-drop of three solid deer. Back at camp as we got to work, the ribbing and storytelling around the tailgate reminded us why we look forward to this season all year long: it’s never just about the game on the ground, but the unbreakable bonds forged in the woods.
