CLARA provides a sustainable home for the arts and arts education CLARA — the E.

Claire Raley Studios for the Performing Arts — provides studio and performance space for professional and community-based arts groups to create, collaborate, develop stability, and grow. We opened our doors in April 2016, and our creative spaces are already fully leased. We are deeply grateful to our many partners -- including the City of Sacramento, Sacramento City Unified School District, the Raley-Teel family, and many other artists and visionaries -- for helping to make our work possible!

Stop by for a blood drive at CLARA this Saturday 7/18, and you can get a voucher for two tickets to a River Cats game! Register at vitalant.org/rivercats

Vitalant is currently facing a critical shortage of type O blood after donations have steadily declined since May. The supply of type O blood has now fallen to its lowest level in two years. Maintaining an adequate blood supply is critical to ensuring patients receive the transfusions they need without delay. Blood donors of all blood types, especially type O, are urgently needed.

A critical blood shortage can be overcome when more people step up to give the gift of life. Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. receives a blood transfusion.

🌸🌿 Volunteer Opportunity at CLARA! 🌿🌸

Do you have a green thumb or a passion for gardening?

We’re looking for Garden Volunteers to help bring more beauty and life to CLARA! From flowers and landscaping projects to a future bougainvillea vine along our Annex gate, we’re hoping to create a more vibrant and welcoming environment for everyone who visits our space - including our pollinator friends like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds!

This volunteer role would involve:
🌸 Helping select and care for plants
💧 Monitoring watering needs and irrigation
🌱 Assisting with garden planning and upkeep
🌿 Helping our outdoor spaces thrive year-round

We’re envisioning a commitment of about once per week, with some flexibility depending on the season and project needs.

If you enjoy gardening and would like to make a lasting impact on a community arts center, we’d love to hear from you!

$400 to go in the next 90 minutes -- do you think we can do it?

05/08/2026

At CLARA, a lot of what we do comes down to bringing people together: students performing for proud families, artists sharing their work, audiences experiencing live performance together.

And wherever there are audiences…there are chairs. 😊

The chairs we’ve used for the last 10 years were donated when CLARA first opened, and they’ve served us well — but they’re ready for retirement. This Big Day of Giving, we’re raising funds to replace them with safer, easier-to-use seating for our community, while also upgrading our long-overdue website.

We’re incredibly close to our goal — just $3,400 to go!

If CLARA has ever impacted you, your family, or someone you love, we hope you’ll help us cross the finish line today (link in comments). ❤️
