CONSISTENCY BUILT THESE LEGS. šŸ’ŖšŸ¾šŸ”„

I’ve always had a heart for fitness, and I’ve always had a vision of becoming a strong, athletic woman. But I can’t say I’ve always loved my legs.

Now? I realize they are of my greatest strengths.

These legs carry me through life. They carried me onto the bodybuilding stage. And ultimately, they’re what led me straight into the Wellness Division. šŸ‘šŸ†

Three days a week, I show up and WORK on these legs. Rep after rep. Set after set. Week after week.

The before and after isn’t about perfection. It’s about CONSISTENCY. You don’t have to change overnight—you just have to keep showing up long enough to see what you’re capable of.

They’re strong.
They’re growing.
And I’m so proud of them. šŸ’œ

And let’s not forget…

THICK THIGHS SAVE LIVES. šŸ˜‚šŸ”„

ā€œThe magic you’re looking for is in the work you’re avoiding.ā€ šŸ”„

THIS hit’s differently!!

People at work always ask, ā€œhow do I look like you?ā€ My journey is hard. Disciplined. Focused. Intentional.

I’ve learned that you can’t ask for extraordinary results while giving ordinary effort.

So I’m showing up—in my career, my business, my family, my health, and for ME.

Not halfway. Not just when I’m motivated. I’m showing up at 100%.

The early mornings. The hard decisions. The sacrifices. The consistency when no one is watching.

That’s where the magic lives.

I’m not waiting for the life I want.
I’m doing the work to become the woman I want. šŸ’ŖšŸ¾āœØ

I was incredibly honored to be featured in this week’s Inside CDCR News highlighting my journey—from losing 112 pounds to competing in bodybuilding while serving in a leadership role in the Office of Civil Rights.

I was grateful for the opportunity to share my story, but I never expected the overwhelming response that followed.

Over the past few days, I’ve received over 100 emails, messages, and conversations from colleagues across the department. While many congratulated me on the competition, what touched me most was hearing how my story made them feel.

One message brought me to tears:

ā€œSeeing your strength in the Civil Rights Office and at your fitness competition meant so much to me. Seeing a Black woman thrive and be recognized in our department gives me hope and pride. Your journey shows me that we belong in these spaces and can succeed against the odds.ā€

Others shared messages like:

šŸ’™ ā€œYou are AMAZING!ā€

šŸ’™ ā€œI wanted to personally congratulate you… You looked amazing. It’s cool to see how great a group of individuals work for CDCR.ā€

šŸ’™ ā€œWhat an accomplishment—congratulations!ā€

šŸ’™ ā€œYou go girl! We’ll go all the way to Vegas to support you!ā€

Another colleague shared that my journey gave her hope that she, too, could lose over 100 pounds—something she’s dreamed about for years. Knowing that my story sparked hope in someone else is more meaningful than any trophy I could ever receive.

This experience reminded me that our stories matter. When we choose to show up authentically, celebrate our victories, and even share our struggles, we give others permission to believe in what’s possible for themselves.

Representation matters. Authenticity matters. Encouragement matters.

If sharing my journey has inspired even one person to take the first step toward a dream they’ve been putting off, then every challenge, every setback, and every early morning was worth it.

Keep showing up. You never know who you’re inspiring. ā¤ļø

Giving back to the sport that has given me so much. ā¤ļøšŸ†

Last night, I had the honor of presenting awards at the Governor’s Cup Spectrum Productions bodybuilding show. As a former competitor, there was something incredibly special about celebrating the hard work, dedication, and success of these amazing athletes. Watching the ladies shine on stage was just as rewarding as competing myself.

I’m so grateful for the opportunity, and I had an absolute blast working alongside the incredible team handing out awards. We shared so many laughs, created lasting memories, and built new friendships that I’ll cherish.

My heart is full. Here’s to celebrating others and continuing to give back to this amazing community. āœØšŸ’ŖšŸ¾šŸ«¶šŸ¾

Two weeks post-show, and while my season has changed, my habits haven’t.

This muscle mommy is still showing up to the gym. Still chasing progress. Still building the life I’ve worked so hard for.

The biggest difference? I’m learning to be intentional about eating more as I work through a clean bulk. I’m also giving back to the relationships that quietly sacrificed during prep—the brunches I skipped, the celebrations I passed on, and the little moments I put on hold while pursuing a dream.

Today, that looked like brunch with a dear friend. Maybe tomorrow it’s sharing a cupcake or cake pop with my son, or finally ordering the latte I’ve been passing up for the last 18 months.

I’ve realized that health isn’t just about saying ā€œno.ā€ It’s also about knowing when it’s okay to say ā€œyes.ā€

Life is made up of seasons. Some require intense discipline. Others invite us to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy the people we love. The beauty is knowing that when the next goal comes calling, I already know how to buckle back up.

For now, I’m choosing balance, gratitude, and making memories—one intentional bite at a time. šŸ’›

3 days of being on cloud 9 🄳🤩 I didn’t just wake up and find myself on the stage.

It’s time to reveal WHY this journey has been both the hardest and most rewarding thing I’ve ever done.

🚨 235 lbs (my heaviest) to 118 lbs 🚨

Those numbers tell part of the story, but they don’t tell you about the blood, sweat, and tears it took to get here. They don’t tell you about the nights I cried myself to sleep feeling defeated. They don’t tell you about the days I wanted to quit, throw in the towel, or maybe even cuss 🤬 out my trainer because the process felt impossible. 🄺

This journey was never just about losing weight.

It was about finding myself.

After multiple pregnancy losses šŸ˜¢šŸ¤°šŸ¾ heartbreak šŸ’” , self-doubt 🤨, and years of carrying pain 😄 that no one could see, I had a choice: stay where I was or fight for the life I deserved.

Today, I stand here as a mother, an athlete, and a woman who finally believes she is enough.

This journey saved my life.

Not because I became smaller, but because I became stronger. šŸ’ŖšŸ¾

For the first time in a very long time, I am no longer ashamed of my story. I’m proud of it. Every scar, every setback, every obstacle helped create the woman standing here today.

So if you’re struggling, if you’re carrying the weight of disappointment, loss, or self-doubt, let me be proof that change is possible.

You are capable of more than you know.

You are worthy of becoming the strongest version of yourself.

And no matter how impossible the journey feels today, keep going.

Because one day you’ll look back and realize that every tear was worth it.

3 days done and still thriving 🤩

More to come…I’M NOT DONE!

The night before I was worried I wouldn’t fill out. Now I’m asking, who’s that girl?
I simply cannot believe what the body does and how amazing God is. I was literally a science project with my coach and legit we busted the code for a successful peak week.
