Next month, we host the 78th annual Walter & Olga Strand Junior/Senior City Championship. Walter and Olga Strand were pillars of Sacramento golf for over 70 years, both instrumental in developing the Sacramento golf community into what it is today. This tournament honors their legacy by providing a place where golfers, both young and old, can play the game of golf together.
The Walter & Olga Strand Junior/Senior City Championship is held on September 13th at Bartley Cavanaugh. This is an 18-hole, 2-player team event. The competition will use a Chapman Scotch format (Hit, Switch, Hit and Choose), with the complete rules being explained on the day of play. There will be two divisions: a Handicap Division and a Callaway Division.
Participation is open to the public. If you would like to play, please visit sacgolfcouncil.org to sign up. Registration closes September 4th.
