7:00PM to 8:00PM - All-levels fusion Lesson taught by Kristin Sorci
8:00PM to 12:30AM - Social dance with THREE DJ’s Savannah Morse, Karina Herman, & Sammie Anne McKibben

Cost:
$5 for the lesson
$20-25 sliding scale for the social dance

Please bring:
-A water bottle, we have a refill station
- Comfortable clothing and low-traction shoes you can move in easily. Comfort is key!
-Theme nights are potlucks, bring a dish or NA beverage to share

TOMORROW Samuel Samways is visiting us from Brazil to teach our fusion theme night lesson at 7pm 🌊🐠🧜🏽‍♂️

He is a Brazilian performing artist with 17 years of experience in partner dancing. His research extends to acrobatic movements, floorwork, capoeira, contemporary dance, contact improvisation and the fusion of Latin American social dances, with an emphasis in Brazilian Zouk, Tango, Forró and Samba de Gafieira.
He is the creator of Mutual Leading, an improvisational technique that challenges the hierarchical structures traditionally associated with gender roles in social dance.

During his career he performed with renowned dance groups such as Mimulus Dance Company, Camaleão Dance Group and Grupo Tápias. He participated in various national and international festivals such as Recife International Dance Festival, Holland Dance Fest, Joyce Theatre NYC, and Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, among others.

Samuel is the director of Terceira Margem, an art collective interested in the intersection between dance, theater and circus. He is also the creator of the dance festival MONSTRA – Festival de Dança de Salão Contemporânea.
