Just re-living the epic 2026 Canyons race weekend! 🤩

Hear from local artist AND 2026 Canyons 100K finisher, , about her experience at Canyons this year + the commemorative print she created that was given to all 100K runners.

"Returning to Canyons this year was both exciting and intimidating. I first ran the original course back in 2018, and while I always hoped to return, the new course felt daunting. I’m so glad I took the leap.

What made this year even more special was being asked to create artwork for those running the 100k, the same distance I would be running! My Foresthill Bridge painting was selected—a piece inspired by a photo taken several years ago by my friend and HOKA’s Jocelyn Watkins. The Confluence aid station, hosted by one of our local running groups, offers a stunning view of the bridge, making this piece especially meaningful.

As for the race itself: I’m a proud back-of-the-packer. Due to anxiety, I intentionally start near the very back of the field and spend the day doing trail math, staying ahead of cutoffs, and moving steadily forward. This year I climbed from 643rd place at Deadwood to finishing 461st.

One of the best parts of Canyons is how supported every runner feels, no matter their pace. Fully stocked aid stations, incredible volunteers, beautifully maintained trails, watermelon, potato chips… it all added up to an unforgettable day.

Crossing the finish line and being wrapped in a finisher towel by my friend Sarah was the perfect ending. I loved it so much that I added my bib number and race stats to the towel, turning it into a keepsake.

Canyons by UTMB is truly special—not only because of the course, but because of the incredible runners and volunteers who make it unforgettable."
