This October, we’re returning to something a little more ancient: mothers gathering outside, sharing food, moving slowly, tending to themselves, and letting their children exist freely alongside them.
No need to keep anyone quiet. No need to have it all together. No need to show up as anything other than exactly where you are.
Four Thursdays at William Land Park.
October 1, 8 + 15 • come solo or bring your kids
October 22 • just for moms
Fresh air, nourishing food, movement, sunlight + the kind of connection that makes motherhood feel a little less solitary.

COMMUNITY.
✨
08/19/2026
This is what it looks like the be held by your community…literally.
The night before surgery, we gathered around Moon to send her off the way we know best, with a healing ritual, loving hands, laughter, and the kind of care that can only come from community. A reminder that none of us are meant to move through the hard things alone.
We’re so grateful to share that her surgery went well. Now begins the slower work of healing - rest, recovery, patience, and taking each day as it comes.
There is still some waiting ahead, but we’re holding close the encouraging news we’ve received so far and continuing to surround Moon with all the love we can.
To everyone who has prayed, checked in, donated, shared, or simply held Moon in your thoughts: thank you. This community has a way of showing up when it matters most, and we are feeling that deeply right now.

yoga to ground us.
nature to remind us.
community to hold us.
ritual to bring us back.
the things we return to, again and again.
this is The Summer Moon.

A little Moon update 🌙🤍
We’re officially in the countdown. Pre-op appointments are August 14 & 15, followed by Moon’s first surgery on August 18, a nearly 10-hour double mastectomy with the beginning stages of reconstruction.
From there, we wait for pathology from the mass + lymph nodes to tell us what comes next. She’ll spend the first few weeks healing in Sacramento before heading home to Templeton, with another reconstruction surgery likely in November or December.
We’ve been told to prepare for Moon to be out for the remainder of 2026, which, if you know her, might be one of the hardest parts of all. 🤍
That means some of the retreats and gatherings she had dreamed up for this fall, including Las Bravas, are being lovingly reimagined. We’re working on ways for The Summer Moon to continue offering connection, movement + a little wildness while she heals, even if those offerings look different for a season.
So many of you have already shown up in ways we’ll never forget. If you’ve been wondering how to help right now, please keep sharing Moon’s GoFundMe. Share it again. Send it to someone who loves her, loves The Summer Moon, or simply believes in taking care of people when life asks them to stop everything and heal. Donate if you’re able, but please know that sharing it matters deeply, too.
This is going to be a long road, and every bit of support is helping give Moon the space to focus on the one job in front of her: healing.
We’re holding onto the vision of our Moon girl back on a horse, back in the ocean, and back under the Summer Moon by spring. 🐎🌊🌙
Until then, we carry her. 🤍

The medicine isn’t always found in silence.
Sometimes it’s shared across a circle of people, in stories, belly laughs, and the feeling of being exactly where you’re meant to be.
Happy Thursday from The Summer Moon ✨

August is almost here, carrying golden evenings, dusty trails, garden abundance, and the gentle reminder that nothing blooms forever.
The beauty of the season isn’t in holding onto it, it’s in being fully present while it’s here.
As August unfolds, so will a new season of offerings. Thoughtfully curated gatherings, workshops, and moments in community are on the horizon, and we can’t wait to share them with you.
Until then, come soak up these last long summer days with us. ✨
