Konta di Odjo 👁️‍🗨️🧿🪬

Many people ask me if I use or sell the evil eye. It is an iconic symbol—a blue eyeball—and goes by many names, mal de ojo being one of them, but I never felt called to use it. Not because I don’t feel the need to protect my energy but more-so I’ve never felt intuitively connected to the well known symbol.

Until I found the konta di odjo.

Konta di odjo translates as “bead of eyes” in Kriolu, the native language in Cape Verde, where my ancestors are from.

The konta di odjo is said to protect the wearer against all evil spirits and negative energy directed at them. Traditionally used in trade, these beads are rumored to be made with cremated remains.

Do I sell the evil eye?

Yes, yes I do.

I use these beads on medicine bags, wrapped crystal necklaces and beaded bracelets. I charge the beads with the sacred vibrations of my altar before creating these adornments with the intention of protection.

This year I set the intention to collaborate more. I spent the last 5 years cultivating community and connecting with like minded, open hearted individuals who all have their own special gifts to share with the world.

Today was a treat—literally and figuratively—because the cacao that Kimberly served us today during the Plant Medicine Meditation was divine 🫶🏽☕️🍫😇 Not to mention the energy she brings to the circle is heartfelt and genuine ❤️‍🔥

Plant Medicine Meditation is this Friday and we are coming together to engage in sacred practice with community 🤲🏽💞
