In Motion School of Dance In Motion School of Dance was founded in July 2000 and is entering Season 26! Come Grow With Us! Our staff qualifications are varied.

Students at In Motion will benefit from classes that focus on technique and vocabulary with progress reports for our Beginner Levels that help to keep an open line of communication with staff and parent. Our staff cares about every student and will work with families to be sure each dancer is placed properly and reaching their full potential. We have instructors on staff that have grown up in our dance school, have college training in the dance/performing arts field, and professional dance experience. With a focus on fundamentals... we provide a fun and warm atmosphere for children and teens looking to learn the art of dance.

Good Morning!

Here's your run down of what is in the studio this evening!

**Intro to Dance: Unfortunately this class is not going to stick to the schedule. With too many conflicts and not enough enrollment, I've offered private lessons to the 2 young ladies who were interested and trying to make it work. This will cover their pre-paid tuition.

FAMILIES - things to note!!

Email/Inbox check later today: Details for the Plié Promotions custom apparel order. Forms start going home today. No minimum order. Must pay in person with cash/check and the form - back in the studio by Tuesday, 10/13.

Also - I will include details and the link for the Logo wear items. This one you can order online with a cc by Sunday, October 11. The goal is to have these in for holiday gifts so take note of these dates. There IS a minimum for the online orders of 12 pieces. (can be any of the items as it's all the same screen print)

Current families - You have a little over a week to be sure you get your spots in the recital season classes. I'll start getting these lists up in the studio tonight as well. First month of classes must be paid to hold your spot. If you want to pay for the year you have to at least pay 1 month to hold the spot with the remaining due by 11/5.

Hope you all had a great day!

Tonight I’d like to share Tap 2 kiddos working on a new exercise we’ve added to our drill repertory… lots of shuffle work!! I’m looking forward to seeing this develop more!

We are back in the studio for classes tomorrow. I also have our online store link going out tomorrow for the logo wear: tee, tank, sweatshirts.

Order forms will start going home Thursday for the CUSTOM items from Plie Promotions too- quick turn around on these things to get them in for the holidays!

2 minutes of Jazz 2 working on turns with a new way to prepare- a 4 step.

We had already practiced and takes about pirouettes going through 1/4, 1/2, and whole and drilling spotting and connecting passé.

When we incorporated a new way to get into the pirouette, some of those elements fall a bit in ex*****on.

THAT’S OK!

I continue to give cues and we will work on this weekly and get stronger.

The practice that happens at home between Mondays and the ficus in details will help move the progress faster! 😉💪🏻

Tonight I’m in the studio 6-8 for Lyric Theater rehearsal.

Proud of these young ladies! 🩰💕

I’m throwing a lot of new vocabulary and concepts to our Level 2 dancers. We are building a foundation that will follow through into the recital season. As the students better understand and remember their exercises I will be able to step back from the demo position and start helping the girls with polishing their technique and working through the details.

All but 1 of these girls are new to Level 2 and beginning to practice barre is a special rite of passage.

In our Level 1 classes the children are introduced in small
Doses in the Spring only and start facing the barre only.

In Level we start class with a warm up and 2 simple barre facing exercises in parallel and turn out. But then it’s big kid barre time!

Keep up the hard work and focus! I can’t wait to see your growth this Season 27!

Please check your inboxes by the end of the day. You will receive details recital season 27 registration. 

Interested in joining us?
Enroll now in the fall session and take a vantage of early registration for season 27  - classes begin at the start of November.

Keep watching here for an announcement in October when new and returning students can begin enrolling for the recital season.

I thought I had a rehearsal today but I realized (on Friday) I did not. For a moment I thought- ooo maybe I should try to get soloists in? And then I realized the universe was giving me a day off at home.

Life comes at you fast and it’s important to take time to soak in the slow moments. It’s good to sit back and reflect on a week well spent and prepare for a week ahead.

I hope you can do the same. Take some time going through our page today and cheer on all these kids who returned to dance or started dance or re-started dance. 👏🏻👍🏻❤️
