The Board of Education recognized Devin Powell of Round Lake High School as the male August athlete of the month!

Devin is a senior on the boys’ varsity football team. Only halfway through the season, Devin has been making a big impact for his team. He is currently ranked 2nd in the state and 49th in the nation as a wide receiver and has the most total yards in a season in the history of RLHS. Devin currently has 3-4 college offers to play football.

Devin is a great leader for both his teammates and the Round Lake area youth football. He consistently sets the standard for what his team needs during the summer and fall football camps, and consistently shows up for youth football games.

Congratulations, Devin!

The Board of Education recognized Hailey Schoen of Round Lake High School as the female August athlete of the month!

Hailey is a junior on the girls’ varsity volleyball team and serves as a co-captain. Hailey exemplifies, embodies, and sets the standard for her entire program of the RLHS core values of perseverance, discipline, and effort, leading her team on and off the court.

Outside of volleyball, Hailey excels in honors and AP classes. She is an active member of SALT, National Honors Society, and girls’ track, and has attended the NLCC leadership conference and the Women’s Empower Her conference. Additionally, she volunteers at the park district, the RLHS concessions stand, and the RLHS volleyball youth clinics and summer camps.

Partnering with Cal’s Angels, we had some very special guests last night at our football game to recognize Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month!
🎗️🏈 ISAAC was our honorary team captain and assisted with the coin toss. The captains of our teams also signed the bell that Isaac rang!
🎗️🏈 KINSLEY stepped out at the end of the 1st Quarter and her story was shared to help spread awareness about Childhood Cancer.
