Is the legendary “Mexican chin” a genetic miracle, or ? Everyone always talks about Mexican fighters having the absolute best chins in boxing. But honestly, I don’t think it’s just a geographic coincidence. What are your thoughts? Is it a biological cheat code, or is it pure upbringing and culture?
If you want to change the sport, you have to change the culture.
Spent two-thirds of my life weekend after weekend at boxing events, and it taught me two major things: fans deserve to feel connected to the whole show, and amateur fighters deserve a platform that actually prepares them for the pros (interviews, marketing, ticket sales, and big stages).
So we built it. In the suburbs out of all places in Roseville, CA.
A sold out venue of 565 people packed into Jose Morales Boxing Academy, with many more watching the global livestream. My goal was to create a clean, family-friendly event with no alcohol and no ring card girls, making boxing a sport families can enjoy together as a new tradition. Seeing fighters from all over come together and excel on this stage was everything.

Anyone who thinks boxing isn’t a team sport doesn’t know how to build a culture.
When the right environment is in place, a team thrives off each other’s energy. Case in point: today’s track run. I didn’t have to tell them to stay together they did it completely on their own.

This wall sat blank for two years for one reason: I knew exactly whose hands needed to bring this story to life. I wanted more than just paint on a wall; I wanted a timeline. A visual journey of every major event, every struggle, and every win that built this gym from the ground up.
Huge shoutout to my friend for finally making it happen. It was worth every second of those two years. He absolutely killed it.

Look at your life through the lens of a parent. Ask yourself: ‘What would I tell my child to do in this exact situation?
Whatever that answer is, do it. Because at the end of the day, that is exactly what you are teaching them. Your children won’t remember the lectures you gave, they will replicate the life you lived. They don’t learn from what you say they learn from who you are.

Bolita is living testimony of what the right environment can do for a person. He started out being forced to box, but when you are surrounded by people who uplift you, you start to second guess your doubts and with time begin to believe in yourself.
I am grateful for his parents, who never questioned the process or compared his journey to his brothers’. Instead, they embraced my training theory and poured love into him, allowing him to develop at his own pace.
This is the same kid who once showed zero effort in training. Eventually, he started pushing himself we set goals, and he moved up to “Bloodaxe,” where, in his own words, he “fell in love with boxing.” I told him if he moved up to “Attila” and then “Impaler,” I would take him to McDonald’s (his favorite place).
Now, 11 months later, he has won his first tournament. I’m proud of you, Bolita. This was all you. You kept showing up even when you didn’t want to. Now, Coach owes you some Mickey D’s!
