That’s a wrap on the 2026 Crush Bonspiel!
There are a LOT of people who make Crush happen. To everyone who pushed a mop, pebbled or nipped ice, moved rocks, sold raffle tickets, donated baskets, wine or beer, bought silent auction items, bussed tables, hauled supplies, packed bins, took photos, cleaned up, or simply saw something that needed doing and jumped in… THANK YOU.
Our photographers captured the curling, celebrations, friendships and fun all weekend. And a HUGE thank you to MoPac’s Ryan Olson, who livestreamed the action from before sunrise to after midnight, bringing Crush to everyone watching from afar. We’re incredibly grateful for the time, talent and very long hours he gives to curling in our region.
To our curlers: thank you for playing, laughing, broomstacking and curling your hearts out. Special salute to our A Event teams who survived Sunday’s 3️⃣-game gauntlet. Your legs may forgive us eventually.
We’re incredibly grateful to Placer Valley Tourism for their continued support of Crush and WCCC over the years and for recognizing the value of bringing curlers and events to our region.
Thank you Skatetown Ice Arena for letting us take over the rink and for the carpet that transformed our on-ice viewing area into the very popular “Tasting Room.” We may have created a monster. They also handled a true Crush emergency admirably: we drank them out of champagne. Twice. They brought in reinforcements and kept the mimosas flowing. That’s partnership.
Even the weather gods came through with a gorgeous 85° Wine Country weekend.
Most importantly, thank YOU. Whether you curled, volunteered, donated, bid, bought raffle tickets, cheered from the Tasting Room or raised a mimosa with us, you made Crush what it was.
