โ€œIโ€™m sure I have a sinus infectionโ€ฆ and now a UTI.โ€

Thatโ€™s not random.
Thatโ€™s a pattern.

Hereโ€™s whatโ€™s really going on โ€” explained simply ๐Ÿ‘‡

The domino effect nobody explains:
- Chronic postnasal drip = bacteria + biofilms stuck in the sinuses
- That drainage goes down the throat
- Into the stomach
- Then the small intestine
- Triggers SIBO, inflammation, and leaky gut

Bacteria migrate โ†’ UTIs

This is why treating just the UTI keeps failing.

The sinus piece is critical.
Ignore it, and the problem keeps recycling.

Good news:
You donโ€™t have to guess.

I already laid out a step-by-step sinus protocol you can try before ever seeing me.

Yes โ€” it includes nasal rinsing (like Navage).
No โ€” itโ€™s not extreme or invasive.

What makes this different?

I donโ€™t hide information

No โ€œsecret protocolโ€ behind a paywall

Everything is explained openly

Where I come in:
I connect the dots ๐Ÿ‘‰ sinuses โ†’ gut โ†’ immune system โ†’ bladder.

Thatโ€™s Functional Medicine.

If youโ€™re tired of:

Repeat sinus infections

Ongoing UTIs

Antibiotics that donโ€™t fix the root cause

STOP CHASING TESTS: The 3 Types of Testing That Can Help Create a Clear Plan

More testing does not automatically mean more answers.

Many people spend thousands of dollars hopping from one test to the nextโ€”without a clear plan for what to do with the results.

Testing should answer a useful question.

It should help guide the next step.

A practical starting point may include:

โœ… Comprehensive fasting blood workUsually after about 10โ€“12 hours of fasting, when appropriate. This can help show the bigger picture.
โœ… Urine testing for environmental exposuresDepending on your symptoms, history, and clinical response, this may include mold-related markers, heavy metals, or environmental pollutants.
โœ… GI-MAP stool testingA detailed stool test that can help assess digestive function and gut-related patterns.

But here is the truth:

A lab test does not get you better by itself.

The value comes from using the information wisely.

โœ… Identify the biggest problems first
โœ… Build a plan around your specific needs
โœ… Track how your body responds
โœ… Adjust the plan when needed

Do not test just to test.

Get the right informationโ€”then use it with a clear, clinical plan.

If you are dealing with ongoing symptoms after Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox, or another fluoroquinolone antibiotic, we can help you sort through what testing mayโ€”or may notโ€”make sense for you.

C. Difficile, Gut Overgrowth & Weight Loss: What Her Stool Test Revealed

๐Ÿ“… Need help? Schedule a Zoom call with me here:
https://dochugh.com/schedule-your-zoom-call-with-dr-hugh-wegwerth

Sheโ€™s 70 years youngโ€”and her gut was in trouble.

After antibiotics and proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), she developed major:

โœ… Diarrhea
โœ… Gas
โœ… Bloating
โœ… Digestive problems
โœ… Unwanted weight loss

She had already lost about 20 pounds.

Her standard C. difficile stool test came back negative.

But we kept looking.

A comprehensive GI-MAP stool test showed several important findings:

โœ… Elevated C. difficile toxin A markers
โœ… Elevated C. difficile toxin B markers
โœ… Major imbalance in gut bacteria
โœ… Low levels of important beneficial bacteria
โœ… Elevated Candida markers

Why do those beneficial bacteria matter?

They help produce short-chain fatty acids like butyrate, which help support and nourish the gut lining.

Think of the gut like a lawn.

When the healthy grass gets weak, the โ€œcrabgrassโ€ can start taking over.

Thatโ€™s why simply looking at symptoms may not tell the whole story.

We used deeper functional medicine testing to help identify what may be driving her digestive problems and built a specific program around those findings.

The good news?

โœ… Her gut symptoms are stabilizing
โœ… Her weight loss has slowed
โœ… She is beginning to gain weight again
โœ… Things are finally moving in the right direction

If youโ€™re struggling with chronic diarrhea, bloating, gut problems, or symptoms after antibiotics and feel like youโ€™re not getting answers, there may be more to investigate.

Hereโ€™s a simple truth most people wonโ€™t tell you ๐Ÿ‘‡

When it comes to red light therapy devices, I donโ€™t chase hype.
I donโ€™t chase brands.
And I donโ€™t overcomplicate it.

I keep it simple.

Hereโ€™s how I actually choose red light devices:
- I look at real reviews
- I check overall ratings
- If people are getting results, I pay attention
- If it works, Iโ€™m open to trying it

Thatโ€™s it.

Most people get stuck in analysis paralysis.
Wavelength debates.
Brand loyalty.
Endless comparison charts.

Meanwhileโ€ฆ they never start.

My approach is practical, not perfect.

- Amazon makes it easy
- Reviews donโ€™t lie when patterns repeat
- Good results matter more than fancy marketing
-Consistency beats obsession

This applies to red light therapy, supplements, toolsโ€”everything.

If something has:
- Solid reviews
- Consistent feedback
- Real-world use

โ€ฆitโ€™s worth considering.

And no, you donโ€™t need a โ€œspecialty brandโ€ to get benefits.

What you do need is:
- Clear direction
- Proper timing

A plan that fits YOUR health situation

Thatโ€™s where most people mess up.

If you want help figuring out:
- Red light therapy
- Supplements
- Gut issues
- Mold
-Floxing

Chronic symptoms that wonโ€™t budge

DIVERTICULITIS FOR 7 YEARS? HEREโ€™S WHAT HIS GUT TEST REVEALED

๐Ÿ‘‰ Schedule a Zoom call with Dr. Hugh Wegwerth to get help:
https://dochugh.com/schedule-your-zoom-call-with-dr-hugh-wegwerth

This client had struggled with gut problems for **7 years** and had been treated with medications, including Humira.

But I wanted to look deeper.

So we ran a functional medicine **GI-MAP stool test**.

What showed up was eye-opening.

โœ… Calprotectin was high**
This marker suggested significant inflammation inside the intestinal tract.

โœ… Secretory IgA was extremely low**
Secretory IgA is an important part of the gutโ€™s immune defense. When it is low, the intestinal lining may have a harder time defending itself.

โœ… Opportunistic bacteria were overgrown**
Several organisms were elevated on his stool test.

โœ… Pseudomonas was extremely elevated**
This was one of the biggest red flags on the report and gave us another piece of the puzzle to investigate.

โœ… Gas-producing bacteria were also elevated**
This may help explain why bloating, pressure, diarrhea, and other digestive symptoms can become so severe.

Hereโ€™s the big point:

Inflammation is a finding. The next question is WHY is the gut inflamed?

Sometimes you have to look beyond the diagnosis and investigate:

โœ… Gut inflammation
โœ… Immune function
โœ… Bacterial balance
โœ… Digestive function
โœ… The intestinal environment

If youโ€™ve been dealing with chronic digestive problems and feel like nobody has looked deep enough, this may be worth investigating.
