We are so proud to celebrate our 2026 Girls winner of our Clifford and Judy Memorial Scholarship: Mia Carney!🎓⚽️🎉
Mia will be attending Northwestern University and studying Neuroscience in the fall.

The Clifford and Judy Hanson Memorial Scholarship was created by RRSO to honor the rich heritage and tradition of Rocky River Soccer. RRSO recognizes both male and female high school senior athletes who have demonstrated a commitment of excellence in academics, athletics, and community service.
The Clifford and Judy Hanson Memorial Scholarship seeks to reward students striving to develop their individual talents to further the common good of their team and community. Scholarships are presented each year at the high school’s recognition assembly in May.
The scholarship carries the names of Clifford and Judy Hanson, a wonderful husband and wife duo who gave more than 35 years of dedicated service to soccer in Rocky River.
With Judy as his spotter, Cliff announced high school boys soccer games for 25 years. Their son Scott was a RRHS varsity team captain in 1982. Cliff also served Rocky River soccer as an RRSO coach and RRHS boys junior varsity coach. In 1995, Cliff and Judy were presented with the sixth annual RRSO Soccer Appreciation Award. Before his death in 2012, Cliff assisted in the presentation of these annual scholarships at the HS awards assembly.

Eric will be attending The Ohio State University in the fall to study Finance.

RRSO U10 Boys played an incredible tournament and won some great Finalist hardware at the NOSO cup this weekend! 🏅

U9 Boys, runner up in the NOSO Cup! Way to go, players and coaches! ⚽🏆

U9 Girls Black had a great weekend at the MIST with a record of 2-1 in the Silver Bracket. Proud of the way the girls finished the tournament with 2 straight wins with their physical play and quality passing.

U9 Boys White soccer team finished the tournament strong in a double over time hard fought win! 2026 Mist Champions! Way to go!⚽️🏆

U13 Maroon boys battled their way to the MIST championship game and left everything on the field. We're proud of the effort, resilience, and teamwork they showed throughout the tournament.
Congratulations on a hard-fought run and a weekend to be proud of. ⚽️🥈

U10 Maroon team went 3-0 in the MIST Tournament's gold division and battled all the way to the championship game. While they came up short in the final, we couldn't be more proud of this group's hard work, growth, and teamwork throughout a competitive Division 1 season. Way to go girls! ⚽️🥈

A combined team of u11, u12, and u13 players went 3-0 in the U13 division this weekend in the Medina Invitational and played for the finals at 1:20. Great Job Girls!⚽️💪🏽
