ONE DAY YOU'LL MISS THIS VERSION OF YOUR POOL LIFE

It's easy to spend our time in pool wishing for the next thing. You wish you were playing better. You wish you had more time to practice. You wish your Fargo was higher. You wish you were winning more tournaments. You wish you could play the way you know you're capable of playing.

And there's nothing wrong with wanting those things. Goals are part of what makes competition exciting. But sometimes we're so focused on getting to the next version of ourselves that we forget to appreciate the version we're living right now.

Maybe you're playing in a league every week with people you've known for years. Maybe you're traveling to tournaments with friends. Maybe you're spending late nights in the pool room, chasing a better game and laughing between matches. Maybe your biggest frustration right now is something that, years from now, you'll actually miss.

Because someday, things will change.

You may not have as much time to play. The people you regularly compete with may move on. Your body may not do everything it does today. Your priorities may change. You may look back at the tournaments, the league nights, the road trips and the hours spent around a pool table and realize you were living through a pretty special chapter of your life.

And you didn't fully appreciate it because you were too busy wishing you were better.

So chase the improvement. Set the goals. Work on your game. Try to win every tournament you enter.

But every once in a while, stop worrying about the player you're trying to become and appreciate the player you are right now.

One day, you may look back at this exact version of your pool life and wish you could have one more night of it.

Happy Friday! The Bears Den gardens have been weeded, revamped and mulched (21 bags). Please respect our time by NOT throwing your cigarette butts in the garden or on the ground. We picked up way too many and we kindly provide a butt receptacle.

Eastern Maine APA is looking for people who just want to have a night out and forget about life for a few hours, make new friends and hang out with like-minded people. We promote a welcoming, friendly, and enjoyable environment for all of our players. We encourage good sportsmanship over winning and want everyone in the room to have fun. Inaugural night of BCA/ VNEA 8-ball at bears den. 20 players total with 16 matches played. Still time to put a team together but that window closes quick so get signed up soon.

Last call for alcohol!!!

Not really but it is the last call for sign-ups for the in-house individual league. Hoping to start this up next week. I’d like to wrap up this session, including the tournaments, before thanksgiving. We will wait until January for the next installment.

8-ball and 9-ball and two tiers each. Schedule day and time with your opponent which avoids conflicts with other leagues.

After 10 hours of play, Colby Thayer took home first place in the tier 1, 8-ball tournament. That netted him a nice $951 for his efforts. Dan Dow took 2nd and $476. Dean Baltis took 3rd and $275. Richard Fortuna was 4th and won $190.

Time for another session! Who wants in?

Tier 1 -8 ball tournament today. 10 out of 13 were able to make it today. Top 4 will share in the $1,902 dollar payout.

Last Tuesday we had some rather valuable things left behind. If you are missing a Toyota key fob, sunglasses, and AirPods, please come pick them up. We’d hate to have to auction them off 🙂.
