South Shore Tae Kwon Do has been offering instruction and training in Taekwondo since 2007. Located in Rockland, MA, South Shore Tae Kwon Do's goal it to produce champions in life as well as in the martial arts. Headed by Robert Whitman (5th Dan Black Belt) South Shore Tae Kwon Do offers a number of programs for physical fitness and instruction in Taekwondo.

I want to thank everyone for making today’s 4th Annual South Shore Junior Classic Martial Arts Tournament a fun and family friendly experience for the competitors. We were expecting only about 40 competitors, we ended up with 90. It was great to see the different schools and styles mix together and have a fun competition and learn sportsmanship.

To the parents of the competitors, thank you for showing respect and support for each competitor even if they weren’t your own child.

To the staff members, volunteers, judges and scorekeepers, thank you for helping every ring along smoothly.

To the coaches and and school owners, thank you for believing in this event and supporting it.

And lastly a huge thank you to the tournament coordinators Ms. Brynda Nykiesha and Master Craig Brown who helped put everything together and set everything up leading up to today’s event! I couldn’t have done it without you.

Last day of belt testing!!

Students and parents, here are the rules for belt testing:
- Make sure you show up for the proper time and date of your belt test. Schedule is posted at the school and here in this post, no changes can be made. Take note that it is different than normal class schedule. If you're not belt testing, there are no regular classes.
- Make sure you wear full CLEAN uniform and belt. No t-shirts. If you come without your full uniform or belt, you cannot belt test.
- Make sure they are on time for belt testing. Not even a minute late. Once the test starts, no one else is allowed on the floor.
- If at all possible, leave all family members behind. Only one parent/guarding will be allowed at the test to minimize distractions.
- Absolutely no sideline coaching. This is an automatic fail. Remember we want to know what the students know, not what the parents know.
- Absolutely no pictures or videos allowed at the test. The students should be focused on the test, not posing for pictures or distracted by a flash going off (yes this has happened). This also is an automatic fail for the test.
- After the test, please don't contact us to ask how they did. They will find out in classes starting on Monday September 21st.

Belt testing times:
- Little Dragons 5:15-5:45 P.M.
- Junior Novice 5:45-6:30 P.M.
- Junior Int./Adv. 6:30-7:15 P.M.

Last classes before belt testing starts tomorrow!! We will be working on sparring, forms, and self defense in the Little Dragon and Junior classes, just forms and self defense with the teen/adult classes today! Please bring your full sparring gear, bo, nunchaks, or kamas.

The final belt testing schedule is posted at the school. No changes can be made.

Student that have turned in the past 3 months of list will receive their star patches today and next week.

We have the following events coming up:
- 4th Annual South Shore Junior Classic Martial Arts Tournament on Saturday September 19th. This tournament will involve other local school in the area and will have board breaking, forms, weapons, and point sparring and Tae Kwon Do sparring. Registration is closed, but our students are encouraged to come and watch and cheer on their fellow classmates. Spectator fees are $5.00 for ages 4-55, children under 4 and adults 55 and older are free. Spectator fees can be paid for in advance at www.southshoretkd.com/events
- Back To School Moms Charcutier Night at South Shore Tae Kwon Do on Friday September 25th at 6:00 P.M. This is a fun way for the moms to get together without the kids to celebrate back to school and learn self defense. You may register online at www.southshoretkd.com/events
