Dover Drag Strip This page is an extension of our Tribute Website For Dover Drag Strip ( www.doverdragstrip.com) ,online since 2008 .

Our purpose is simple: To preserve and present, through our annual Dover Drag Strip Nostalgia Drags the legacy of Dover Dragstrip, that operated From 1961 to 1976., in Wingdale, N.Y. It has an informative forum, of over 1500 former Dover Fans-Racers and those that share the passion for the Legendary track that operated from 1961 to 1976, in Wingdale,N.Y. At the home page (Top Right ) .if you click on "Galleries", you can access 5000+ photos,donated through the years of 'all Dover shots".The website generated a concept to get the 'gang' back together and race again as in the old days. In 2009 the first "Dover Drag Strip Nostalgia Drags " at Island Dragway was held.The event was expanded to two days, just to get more social time. In 2011, the 'party' was moved to Lebanon Valley Dragway,and was expanded to three days to include 7 'vintage' eliminators , Funny cars -extreme altereds ,vendors and special visiting Nostalgia Groups .Plus a big Rod & Custom Car Show & a Nostalgia Race Car Display were added on Sunday. The Website, page and The Dover Event, are all administrated by "Dino" Lawrence. He was the track announcer from 1967 to 1972, but stayed active til 1974. As the track' PR' guy, he coordinated advertising ,special events ,and designed all the programs, t-shirts,and signage .Many of his original design work (t-shirts-decals-signs & banners )have been recreated at his www.dragstripsgone.com online store. Many of you know. I started my Dover Drag Strip ‘legacy’ way back in 1967. There I was opening day in April, when they made an
announcement “would anyone like to announce?” Seems the regular guy, Gary Teto, didn’t show up. So, I raised my hand and I guess
I passed the audition and was the track announcer up until 1972. Through those years I met all the cool racers and fans , and we became
a real Racetrack Family .That experience is what is a milestone in my life, and why we all continue to “keep the memories alive” to this day.
Many years pasted until in 2009 we had our 1st Dover Drag Strip Nostalgia drags at Island Dragway. By 2011 we moved the ‘party’ to
Lebanon Valley Dragway, were we’ll have our 18th annual event again in Sept. 25,26,27. Looking forward to seeing the old gang again.
