🏛️ Favorite exhibit:
My favorite exhibit here at DCM, besides our new GROW! exhibit, would have to be Ginny's House. There is something about walking by that "home" and seeing how our families interact in the space. Getting a glimpse of how they might set up, cook, serve and host guests. Seeing Ginny's House become an extension of the family playing in it and how culture and family dynamics play a role in their engagement is a gift to witness.
❤️ Favorite part about working at DCM:
My Team! Being the Manager of Engagement has stretched my legs in so many ways. Being able to work closely with our team who plays such a significant role in our museum and what we want for our community is such a privilege. Learning and absorbing perspectives through their lenses, communicating and advocating for our goals on the business side and watching the growth of them as individuals feeds my heart daily. Our teamwork is unmatched and my team makes me proud.
🪴Hobbies/what do you like to do outside of work:
Well, I am a mom of 6 so my children currently take up most of my time but we do lots together! Gardening, reading, walks, coming to the discovery center LOL. I also like to try new local coffee shops with my fiance and sometimes the occasional art making night out in Rockford!
🎂 Favorite food: Vegan Chocolate Cake!
🦹♀️ If you could have any superpower what would it be: Teleportation, hands down.
🧸 Favorite childhood toy:
Besides being outside, I would say my BlowPen set! I loved to create a masterpiece at any given time!
📍 Describe your ideal day in the Rockford area:
I love our busy Art Scene weekends! Planning a river walk, lunch downtown, a pit stop at DCM with the kids and then hitting all of the local participating spots for Art Scene. Such good people and vibes and community!
