Behind every athlete is a parent wearing about ten different hats.
We’re the drivers.
The snack packers.
The schedule keepers.
The bill payers.
The sideline cheerleaders.
The pep-talk givers.
The ones washing uniforms at midnight because they somehow need them again at 7 a.m.
We’re the ones loading the car before sunrise.
Sitting in folding chairs all weekend.
Eating concession-stand food for dinner.
Driving hours for games that last less than an hour.
And pretending we’re not stressed every time another fee, hotel, uniform, or piece of equipment comes up.
But we do it.
Because we know it’s bigger than the sport.
We see what they’re learning when they lose.
We see the confidence that comes after they finally get it right.
We see the friendships, the discipline, the toughness, the tears, the comebacks, and the moments that shape them.
We see them learning how to show up.
How to work hard.
How to be part of something.
How to fail and still try again.
And that’s why we keep showing up too.
Tired.
Broke.
Overpacked.
Undercaffeinated.
And somehow still proud beyond words.
Because behind every athlete is a parent who is sacrificing more than people realize.
Not for trophies.
Not for medals.
Not for bragging rights.
But for the lessons, the memories, and the kind of character that will follow them long after the season ends.
And honestly?
That’s the real win. 🏆
