The Oak Park Tennis Center provides 9 new HarTru clay courts to the public in collaboration with the Forest Preserve District of Cook County at the corner of Lake Street and Harlem Avenue from April through October, weather permitting. OPTC is also available for event or company outing rental. OPTC is a nonprofit organization.

The Men’s A Tournament #2 played out today, with some of the biggest names in the area chasing glory. Congratulations to our new Champion, Enrique Ochoa, and to finalist Ben Whitson. The match was pure high‑octane tennis—played in scorching heat and packed with wonderful shot‑making from both players. A terrific battle and a well‑earned title.

Last Saturday marked the triumphant return of the Pro’s Tournament, featuring coaches from local clubs competing for an envelope stuffed full of cash. Competition was fierce, but the draw followed a familiar script, with Tomy ‘The Tominator’ Martinez winning the cash prize and 12 month’s of bragging rights. Oscar was the unlucky finalist, putting on a great display of shots that resembled a fusion of Federer and Zorro, before succumbing to a dodgy shoulder and cramps.

Earlier in the day it was the member’s chance to shine, with drills and games led by Gino and the coaching crew. Food arrived, drinks flowed, the pros put on a fine display, and a great time was had by all.
