Iāve been to four clientsā weddings. Held three clientsā babies. And now, have gone to a funeral.
Over nine years of weekly appointments. Through grandbabies. Graduations. Books. Moves. Illnesses. So many vacations and trips.
I was thanked by the family for what I did for the client, for them. I cried with them. I hugged them.
We shared stories and memories.
Iām not just a pilates teacher.
I had such a fantastic time teaching at the HeartFest today! Such a cool event, vendors and activities! The outside space was so peaceful and just lovely. Great people, so supportive and friendly. This kinda made me realize how much I miss teaching group classes, it was so fun!
So awesome to see some former clients, current clients, friends, and even my husband out in the crowd! Thanks for the support yāall!

Compression can be supportive. It can be helpful, improving blood flow or supporting your muscles and joints. But for me, personally, I donāt like it. Mostly because they compress everything and everywhere. I donāt like tight things on my stomach, I donāt like feeling like Iām about to be sliced in half by a drawstring/elastic waistband. Again, my desire for myself and my clients is to be able to move comfortably.
(I am also not a fan of the shapewear)
There are no uniforms, my studio is not stepford wives-esque. Wear what you feel comfortable in. Nothing thatās going to restrict your movement, no āhard pantsā and please, no zippers.
Feet are the literal foundation of your body. They carry a lot of weight. They need to be able to move properly. When they donāt, your gait (the way you walk) is affected. When your gait is abnormal, you risk pain/injury up the kinetic chain, knees, hips and low back.
Give your feet some attention! The rest of your body will thank you!
According to the Cleveland Clinic
Cellulite is the name for collections of fat that push against the connective tissue beneath your skin. It often appears on your thighs, stomach and butt (buttocks). Cellulite makes the surface of your skin look lumpy and puckered, or appear dimpled.
Cellulite is very common. Between 80% and 90% of all women whoāve gone through puberty have cellulite. Less than 10% of men have cellulite.
Genetics, s*x, age, the amount of fat on your body and your skinās thickness determine how much cellulite you have and how visible it is. As you age, your skin loses elasticity and can make the appearance of cellulite more evident. Gaining weight can also make the appearance of cellulite more prominent.
Although people with obesity have pronounced cellulite, itās not uncommon for very lean people to notice the appearance of cellulite.
In summary: gender, hormones, genetics, weight fluctuations, physiology all play a part. It is what it is.
