Here’s everything you need to know for practices starting tomorrow at 6:00am!

Interested in rowing with VCU Crew Club? Join us next week for learn to row! Whether you’re a seasoned rower or trying the sport for the first time, we’d love to see you there.
We will be offering both AM and PM learn to row seasons next week. Both morning and afternoon practice meet outside the Brandt & Rhoads dorm to carpool to The Boathouse at Rocketts landing.

Join us at 6:00 AM starting Monday August 24th for practices. We will meet at Brandt and Rhoads at 5:45 AM to carpool to the boathouse! There will also be optional Learn to Row sessions in the afternoon at 5:30pm Tuesday-Thursday this week with pickup 15 minutes before at Brandt and Rhoads. We are so excited to see you there!

Our Learn to Row week kicks off Monday, August 24th! If you want to try something new, come out and learn what rowing is all about. No experience needed!

It’s Almost Raceday for us at the ACRA Regatta!! Watch out for VCU for the next few days on the racecourse 🐏🔥!

Last but certainly not least on our senior spotlight is our current president Surabhi Bangarbale!

Surabhi has rowed for 7 years now and is graduation an interdisciplinary studies major with minors in chemistry, premed, and product innovation. Along with being the current president she was the vice president last year.

Her favorite memory on the team was the Head of the South Regatta her freshman year where she yapped in the hotel room for hours with her teammates. Surabhi could not imagine her college experience without crew and is so grateful for the memories she’s made.

We all thank Surabhi for her commitment to the team and leadership the past two years. We hope you have a great time in the future!!

Bella Di Leo is our next senior up for our senior spotlight!

Bella has been rowing for 3 years and is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science with a minor in biology and an outdoor leadership certification. One of Bella’s favorite memories is the training trip in Cocoa Beach we have each year.

Bella said she is going to miss the team so much and she had so much fun during her time on the team. We hope you the best and wish you great things in the future!

Next up on our Senior Spotlight is Otto Fesperman!

Otto joined the team in their sophmore year, Coxswain turned rower! Otto is graduating with a bachelors degree in Kinetic Imaging. After graduation Otto plans to study abroad and explore the world.

Otto’s favorite memory has to be spring break training, specifically when rowing in the mornings in the bay and bonding with the team.

We thank Otto for spending their college years rowing with us and hope them the best in the future!

First up in our Senior Spotlight series is Blake Jocuns!

Blake’s rowing journey began right here in college, and they’ve spent all four years dedicated to the VCU Crew team. As a Broadcast Journalism major, Blake is looking forward to traveling the country after graduation to chase exciting opportunities at the intersection of their degree and their interests.

Blake’s favorite memory on the team is spending a full day at the beach on our annual training trip in Florida with the entire team.

Congratulations on an amazing four years, Blake! We can’t wait to see where your travels take you next.

It’s Almost Raceday for the Varisty 4+ at Dad Vails and the 2- at The Women’s Small Boats Initiative this weekend! Good luck to them and let’s hope they bring back some hardware!
