A guide to the 4 K80 models marketed to Sporting Clays Shooters

1. All new K80 receivers are exactly the same mechanically – each K80 receiver is handcrafted with the same care and quality standards. From the Standard Grade to the highly engraved Crown Grade, they all are mechanically the same. The engraving and wood grade are the only differences among the different “grades” that Krieghoff offers.

2. Krieghoff offers 4 sporting clays models – they are different in overall weight and more importantly how they feel in the shooters hand – In short, the dynamics are different. What differentiates the models is which stock and which barrels are on the receiver.

3. Sporting Model – Original design since the 1980s -- has the familiar split between the barrels, a drop comb stock and schnable forearm – (there is a parallel comb stock and beavertail forearm that are more commonly used on s***t and trap models) The overall weight is approximately 8 ¾’ – 9 lbs, depending on wood density – This model is very common and is a great option for the shooter that likes a slower, heavier dynamic balance- available with right or left handed stocks, 30” or 32” barrels with factory Titanium chokes-

4. Pro Sporting Model – This model was introduced in 2008 and uses the same barrels as the Sporting Model with one change. The rib is slightly taller and is adjustable to change the point of aim – The Pro Sporter has its own stocks due to the taller rib but are the same dimensions off the center of the rib as the stocks available for the fixed rib Sporting model – In addition the overall weight and dynamics will be similar to the Sporting Model.

5. Parcours Model – Due to the evolution of the Sporting clays market wanting quick, agile models, Krieghoff introduced the Parcours Model in 2012. This model incorporated a much lighter barrel and a slimmed down stock. The barrels are no longer a split design, using a light contour barrel tubing and side rib for stability. The overall changes have reduced the overall weight significantly, to between 8 and 8 ¼” pounds. Because most of the weight came out of the barrels, the dynamics are quick and nimble compared to the Sporting and Pro Sporting Models- Barrels are available in 28”/30”/32”/and 34”. Available with fixed chokes (M/IM or IM/F) as well as with Krieghoff factory thin wall chokes (flush or extended). The stock is designed specifically for this model that has a flat rib and is available in either right or left hand.

6. Parcours “X” Model – This model is the latest offering from Krieghoff – This model was introduced in 2020 to fill the weight gap between the heavier Sporting and Pro Sporting models and the much lighter Parcours Model. Using the exact same barrel tubing, Krieghoff simply developed a slightly wider rib effectively adding approximately 4 ounces to the original Parcours barrels. Parcours X barrels are available only in 32” and only with Krieghoff factory thin wall chokes (flush or extended).
The Krieghoff lineup of Sporting Clays Models offers a wide range of choices when it comes to weight and dynamics, giving the shooter a number of options when deciding which model he or she prefers.
A Special Note: Krieghoff International works with Paxton Arms to reconfigure any model by changing the wood and barrels to speed up the delivery process.

Example: A client calls interested in a particular Crown Grade K80 in our current inventory, as it has the scenes that he/she wants. However, it is a currently configured as a Sporting Model and the client wants it as a Parcours X model. We simply send it back to Krieghoff International (Krieghoff’s U.S. office in Pennsylvania) and the Krieghoff factory gunsmiths exchange the wood and barrels, changing the Model from a Sporter to a Parcours “X”. This flexibility usually results in the client getting exactly the combination of model and grade preferred in a short time frame.
