Dear NNKC Members,
It has come to the Board's attention that a potential overthrow of the current board is in discussions for the Northern Nevada Kart Club at the upcoming membership meeting. While differing viewpoints are a normal and healthy part of any member-driven organization, it is disappointing to see divisions develop within a club that has benefited greatly from the dedication of so many volunteers over the years.
NNKC is a nonprofit organization operated entirely by volunteers. The current Board has invested a significant amount of time, energy, and personal commitment to support the club's growth and long-term success. These efforts have always been guided by a focus on member experience, the financial sustainability of the organization, and, above all, the safety of our racers, families, and spectators.
Over the past several years, the club has achieved many significant milestones. Through the collective support of our members, sponsors, and volunteers, NNKC has raised more than $100,000 for track improvements, completed a major track repaving project, enhanced facilities and safety measures, and maintained strong participation levels, averaging between 80 and 100 racers per event. These accomplishments are the result of countless volunteer hours contributed by board members and volunteers who have worked diligently to ensure that race days are enjoyable and successful for all participants.
After careful consideration, Kelsey, Clint, and Joyce have decided to step down from their positions and place a greater focus on their families and personal commitments. We respectfully submit our resignations and extend our sincere gratitude to the members, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters who have helped make NNKC a thriving organization.
We are proud of what has been accomplished during our tenure and remain confident in the club's future. We encourage all members to remain engaged, participate constructively in the governance process, and support the next generation of leaders as they continue to build upon the foundation that has been established.
Finally, we would like to remind members that, where the club's bylaws are silent on procedural matters, Robert's Rules of Order generally serve as the accepted parliamentary authority for nonprofit organizations and provide guidance for conducting meetings in a fair and orderly manner.
We wish the Northern Nevada Kart Club continued success and look forward to seeing the club prosper in the years ahead.
Respectfully,
Kelsey Nelson
Clint Hanson
Joyce Huet
