The Biggest Little Shimmy School of Burlesque has been training Reno's top talent since 2008. Organized by the Desert Rose Revue's Reagan Riot.
Our mission is to promote proper education and provide a quality foundation for those interested in learning the art of burlesque and its rich and extravagant history. We offer individual, group, and event classes ranging from burlesque basics to full performance bootcamps. We tend to keep things traditional with FunDamental class structures and classic music, however we'll be working with some local DJ's to construct some mashups! First on the list of new workshops w/ group numbers will be Hairography! It'll take some time to get the mixes just right, but look out for our new Winter 2020 class releases! Burlesque legend Camille 2000 (Camille Sands) passed away today after a lengthy battle with cancer. “The Girl for Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow” was awarded our 2019 Living Legend Award for her contribution to burlesque. Her work, like her signature "Marquis de Sade" act, consistently pushed against and expanded the boundaries of the art. More than that, she was an active supporter of today's neo-burlesque performers, with a vocal online presence and a steady stream of performances at festivals and local events. She will be deeply missed.
