I’m not a long range guy, honestly haven’t shot a r***e in 20 years. So when D_Tallman pulled his long gun out, J gave it a go. I wasn’t sure how it would go. This was J’s shot at # 653 yards. Not too bad for a gun he’s never fired and his longest r***e shot is 200 yards.

J was down and for the count the last three weeks sicker than ever. Meds doing their job we made for the mountains. Down 15 lbs and still feeling weak he still got it done. Honestly one of the funnest hunts I’ve been on in a long time!

Got it done! I’m happy J was there!! The pack out was no joke!! Little over a mile and 1,200 feet of elevation! I was happy to have those young legs with me!! Another memory made!!

We put in the miles during the archery hunt as well as the muzzleloader hunt looking for a buck for her brother but he was super picky and wouldn’t settle for anything smaller then a solid 4 point. Then we show up for the r***e hunt, push a mile back into a canyon I knew held some deer and Kins dropped the hammer on this buck after a mile and a half of cat and mouse! This girl can flat shoot!!! I’m going to be sore for a few days!

We have been grinding trying to find J a good mule deer buck but we’ve been struggling to find something he’d harvest. Not a bad thing when they have standards! But man does it make for a lot of for a lot of work! We found a good one this weekend but the trees got in the way! We’ll keep pushing!!
