Some Hawk Fire evacuation orders to be lifted, road closures to end 08/27/2026

TMCC reopened today, so we are back to normal schedule. Our first karate practice for the fall semester will be tomorrow, Thursday, August 27, at the TMCC Sports and Fitness Center, Room 111 and 112 (combined) on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 PM–8:00 PM.

Some Hawk Fire evacuation orders to be lifted, road closures to end Washoe County lifts many Hawk Fire evacuations as containment reaches 85%. Power restoration is expected by Thursday for remaining outages.

Dojo Practices 08/21/2026

Reno Shotokan Karate Club practices will re-start this coming Tuesday, August 25. Just like before, practices will be held at the TMCC Sports and Fitness Center, Room 111 and 112 (combined), Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 PM–8:00 PM.

Let’s get back on track and start the school year with the right strong mentality. We hope to see you at practices! 👊🏼💪🏼

Reno Shotokan Karate members have been practicing at the Tahoe Shotokan Dojo for the summer. Thank you to Mr. Gregg Henrikson, Godan, for continuously having us.

Last night was a good practice with more new students.

Tahoe Shotokan Karate Dojo – Tahoe, NV 06/05/2026

Starting next week and for the rest of the summer, our karate practices will be held at Tahoe Shotokan Dojo, with Mr. Gregg Henrikson, Godan (https://tahoe.ska.org/). Current membership to Shotokan Karate of America is required to practice at the Tahoe Shotokan Dojo. We usually carpool going there, please contact us for more details.

We will be back to practicing at the TMCC Sports and Fitness Center when the Fall 2026 semester starts on Tuesday, August 25.

Due to end-of-semester deadlines, we will not have practice tonight. We hope to see you next week, and please note our summer schedule. Starting next week, practices will be from 5:30PM–7:00PM, T/Th, outside of the Red Mountain Building, on the grass at the roundabout. We run first (running is optional), so if you would like to join us for that, please be ready to run at 5:00PM.
